COLMWORTH

Bedford 8 miles.

The village of Colmworth is situated within easy reach of the town of Bedford in Bedfordshire. Colmforth has much to offer including a 15th century church, children’s play area, a country park, a couple of pubs and takeaways and a mobile Post Office, and the Colmworth and North Bedfordshire Golf Club is located less than two miles away. Just eight miles away is the town of Bedford, which is one of England's smallest towns. Flowing through the town is the River Ouse, which is best seen from the restored castle mound. This castle mound is all that remains of a medieval castle that was destroyed in the siege of 1224. Alternatively, spend time down by the embankment, next to the river, perhaps with a picnic, or peruse the number the shops that can be found in the town. Bedford is a convenient location for exploring further afield too. Why not take a train ride out of Bedford to central London, which offers something for everyone, or visit historic Oxford or Cambridge? A lovely location whatever you decide to do on your Bedfordshire getaway.
