Crantock beach itself was as good as any we visited during our stay and our dog loved being let off to run around as it was so quiet.

Its a perfect location to explore the area, easy walk to the most beautiful beach and the hosts will go out of their way to look after you - its a 5*+ house. Thank you again for a great stay :)

  • "We had a wonderful stay here and were genuinely really sad to leave."

Location is great - short walk to beach, pubs and little shop or within 15 min drives of wonderful surrounding towns and bays. Owners were lovely and right nearby if you needed anything, including recommendations. Truly one of the comfiest and best equipped self catering places we have ever stayed. We would be back in a heartbeat should the price be right- sadly I think we are priced out for the summer season so might have to stay a winter getaway for the two of us and the dog. Thanks so much guys!

  • "We spent a wonderful week at Periwinkle in January."

The house is warm, beautifully decorated and has excellent facilities. It's spacious, comfortable and strikes a great balance of modern and coastal chic. It's a 10 min walk to the beautiful beach at crantock and the coastal path, and there is a little shop and pubs a short walk away. The house is set in a quiet residential road, backing on to fields, it really is a peaceful location. The garden is fully enclosed, so perfect for pets There is also excellent garen furniture and the hot tub is brilliantly thought out- secluded and perfect for relaxing looking at the incredible starry sky. There were many personal touches from the owners that made the stay even more special- thank you for a wonderful holiday!

The house itself was stunning and had everything you needed. The hot tub was also very good and we found this to be an amazing was to relax in the evening. The location is ideal to as you are right next to the beach and only a 10min drive from Newquay centre. We visited lots of restaurants and one which we particularly like was a restaurant called ‘12 beach road’ this place had some lovely food and we would recommend. The owners of this beautiful house are also incredible, they are very helpful and if you need anything they are on hand to help whenever possible. Myself and my wife will 100% be coming back here again

  • "On the whole the house was clean and sufficed."

The lounge STANK of dogs. The bedding was cheap and the pillows were awful (cheap and flat). There were stains on the mattress protector so obviously it wasn't cleaned since at least the visit before. There was absolutely nothing available such as oil/foil/washing up liquid (which may be a covid thing but VERY unusual in our experience for nothing to be available) and the hot tub - the only reason we were prepared to spend as much on 1 week away - was not very good because it only worked on 1 side at a time. The pump clearly isn't strong enough for the size of the tub. Overall, it didn't stop us from having a nice week away but we definitely wouldn't return - the price asked was just pure greed taking advantage of people needing to go away in this country during the half term. Shame. If it wasn't so expensive we wouldn't have expected so much.

We are sorry that your stay did not live up to your expectations. We have had only consistent positive reviews on everyone's experience at Periwinkle. We wish you raised the fore-mentioned concerns at the time of your stay to allow us the opportunity to look into these further. Upon your arrival we received an email from yourself saying Its a really lovely property and we are looking forward to spending the week. Thank you for the Scones and Prosecco - I am sure they will be enjoyed with no concerns raised. In order to protect our guest and be COVID secure between stays we have not provided oil, etc. However we provided a complimentary welcome package including; tea, coffee, milk, chilled water, scones and Prosecco. Further to this we also provided dishwasher tablets, kitchen sponge, bin bags, kitchen roll and tin foil as standard. I would like to assure all guest the bedding is professionally cleaned, changed and inspected in between every stay. We have had no other negative complaints with regards to the quality. There were no stains on the bedding or mattress protector prior to your stay and any stained bedding is replaced. We are aware pillows can be a personal choice so apologies if you were not happy with the comfort. In future, please let us know of anything that we can do at the time to make your stay more comfortable. With regards to the hot tub, an instruction manual is provided to demonstrate how to operate it. When you contacted us on the Monday of your stay, we responded within 30mins and personally visited to give a demonstration of how to use the hot tub. At the time it was agreed that it was user error and were more than happy with the hot tub. It was also followed up the next day to ensure you were happy, it was confirmed the hot tub was good. We have since spoke to the supplier who concluded it was again unfortunately user error. The hot tub is only 6 months old and is designed for 6 people. We are disappointed that you didn't notify us of any of your concerns either in person, via email, or mobile during your stay. Please feel free to reach out to us directly so we could see how we could have improved your stay with us. Kindest regards, Kelly, Tom and Perrie Property Owner

  • "Periwinkle in the beautiful Village of Crantock is a fantastic modern family house which was perfect for our family of 5 (2 adults & 3 children)."

The house itself is well maintained and finished to a high standard throughout and was equipped with everything we needed. The garden is again finished to a high standard, well landscaped with the added luxury of the hot tub which is perfect for relaxing in after a long day exploring beautiful Cornwall. Whilst we didn’t take our dog on this holiday the garden is well secured for a four legged friend. The hosts left us a very nice welcome gift as well as a lovely introductory greeting card. They were always on hand and very approachable if we needed anything. Crantock itself is beautiful, the house is located at the top of the village and the beach is a 10/15 minute walk. The coastal sand dunes are great to explore and the views are stunning! We took an hour walk along the coast towards Holywell Bay where you’ll often find a colony of seals - it’s well worth the walk!! In terms of amenities, Crantock has a well stocked local shop as well as two pubs and a coffee/cake cafe (The Jam Jar) which doubles up as an excellent Pizzerie in the evening which also serves cocktails! We’d not hesitate to recommend Periwinkle and it’s lovely hosts!
