“Top of the hill and a lovely cottage”

We wanted a cosy cottage that was dog friendly and this fitted the bill nicely. It is at the top of the steep hill out of Boscastle and after looking at Google maps we knew what to expect. Parking is an issue but these villages were not built for cars and again we expected this. It has a large car park down on the front for visitors but limited parking further up the hill. The cottage was lit up for our arrival and we felt very welcomed. We had a problem with the oven which was quickly sorted. Thank you. The only suggestion is to perhaps to make the info as to who to contact more prominent in the folder to make it easier than contacting the rental agent we used. We recommend that the mattresses are renewed as we found them uncomfortable. You could feel too many springs. We believe a little refurb is underway and this with new mattresses would have got a 5 star review. A definate cottage we would return to with its lovely garden and proximity - So no hill walking -to The Napolean pub which served good food and we would recommend booking in advance for the Sunday roast.

The property

This dear little 18th century, semi-detached cottage sits at the top of the famous Cornish village of Boscastle, where two rivers meet the sea in a natural harbour between steep moorland hillsides.

Enjoying lovely long views over the village to the sea, this neat-as-a-pin cottage provides cosy accommodation for families wanting to explore this dramatic stretch of the north Cornish coast.

Relax in the comfy open plan sitting room, kitchen and dining area with low beams and wood burning stove neatly tucked into the inglenook fireplace.

There’s a neat little entrance porch with plenty of room for coats and boots.

On the upper floor, two comfortable bedrooms, a double with those lovely long views and a glimpse of the sea, a twin and a bathroom with bath, shower over, basin and WC, also enjoying a good view.

Outside, a neat, enclosed shrub-filled garden with those delightful views.

It’s a short stroll to the dramatically beautiful harbour entrance (lovely cliff top walks), as well as the village’s shops, pubs, cafés and spooky witchcraft museum.

If you like a little action, head for the nearby local pony-trekking stables or the fine surfing beach at Trebarwith Strand.

Fuchsia Cottage is a great spot for exploring this dramatic and beautiful stretch of the north Cornish coastline any time of the year.
