  • "We had an absolutely fantastic stay at Babes Cottage."

    The location was perfect: peaceful and tranquil, yet within easy reach of numerous beaches and access to the A30 for exploring Cornwall. The cottage was easy to find, clearly signposted, comfortable, and very well equipped. Everything had been thoughtfully provided to make our stay enjoyable and stress-free. One of the highlights was the large field, which was perfect for games, relaxing outdoors, and hosting a BBQ with friends. It really made our stay extra special. Bertie and Emma were exceptional hosts: friendly, helpful, and incredibly accommodating. Communication was excellent throughout, and they were always on hand if needed. We couldn't have asked for a better stay and would happily return in the future. Highly recommended!

  • "The cottage was lovely, very comfortable and warm, with everything we needed including a field where our dog could run around."

    The only thing that could be improved is the signs. The cottages are not signposted from the main road and the small signs leading to them from the side road, are very small and not visible at night, other than that we were very happy

  • "We had a nice stay at Babes Cottage and was very cosy with the log burner and was very comfortable and quiet would recommend the Cottage if you're looking for relaxing and away from the rat-race Would definitely book again but with better weather next time, great hosts Emma and Bertie ."

  • "Babes cottage has everything you need and more for a perfect holiday."

    They have beach games and garden games to keep you entertained. The host’s Emma and Bertie are very friendly and will help any way they can. The garden space next to the cottage is fantastic for yourselves or the dog, my dog loved it and never wanted to come in. It was so great we are definitely returning next year.

  • "Lovely cottage with amazing views and a massive field/ garden for our energetic dog to run around."

    Peaceful location but only 10 minutes drive from the coast. The hosts, Bertie and Emma, were really helpful and very welcoming. Great for a short or long break.

  • "We had a great stay at Babes Cottage, the location was perfect as it was nice and secluded but still only less than a 10 minute drive to the lovely little town of Perranporth and its wonderful long sandy beach."

    The property is beautifully clean and has all you need for a relaxing break. The hosts are a lovely couple and extremely friendly and helpful, if you need them. We made good use of the bbq in the large garden which is very well maintained and inviting (also great size for dogs). We hope to visit again soon.

  • "The cottage was lovely and spotlessly clean just tucked off the main road in Goonhavern."

    I could not fault this place with lovely scenery along with the hosts who were helpful. The only let down was the company I booked this with poor, poor service with Bad communication and phone lines. Never again will I use Skyes cottages..

Babes Cottage is a former piggery with original stone walls, tucked away in the charming countryside of Perranwell, Cornwall.

With delightful countryside views and a tranquil location with no disturbance, this pet-friendly retreat welcomes families and couples, idyllic for a romantic getaway.

Step inside this characterful abode and discover a tasteful single-storey layout with beamed ceilings that exudes rustic charm.

The contemporary kitchen is well-equipped for all your self-catering needs, while the snug living/dining room offers plenty of space to snuggle up with your loved one to watch a movie on the TV and enjoy an intimate dinner, for two, around the dining table.

Outside, there is a front gravel area, where you can enjoy your morning coffee sitting on the furniture provided.

Just a just a few steps away is the shared two-acre shared recreation field with picnic areas for al fresco dining, a gazebo with a gas barbecue and chimenea.

Gas and wood are provided free of charge.

Also provided are a selection of outdoor games such as swing-ball, boules and badminton.

Hidden down a quiet byway you can escape with your loved one to the tranquil countryside with a stay at Babes Cottage.

GOONHAVERN

Perranporth 2 miles; Newquay 6 miles; Truro 9 miles.

Goonhavern is a small Cornish village in an excellent position just two and a half miles inland from Perranporth, which lies in the heart of Poldark country, the setting for the novels of Winston Graham, who lived in Perranporth in the 1930s. Goonhavern is an active community with a traditional inn, village shop, garden centre and children’s playground. Once known as the source of the finest tin, the community still retains reminders of their rich heritage including abandoned pump houses, mine shafts and workers’ cottages. The nearby town of Perranporth has a beautiful sandy beach which at low tide stretches to three miles long and is overlooked by craggy rocks suitable for rock pooling. The beach is lifeguarded in summer, providing a popular family destination and hosted the 2016 British National Surfing Championships. Perranporth also offers a small selection of shops, restaurants and pubs including The Watering Hole, a unique pub situated on the sand in the middle of the beach offering live entertainment with a great atmosphere, good food and an amazing view of the sunset! The local Blue Hills museum and Perranzabuloe Folk Museum are both well worth a visit to understand the rich heritage of this coastal area. Further afield are the miles of sandy beaches at Crantock and Holywell Bay and the breathtaking coastal walks around St Agnes, much of it owned by the National Trust. For a greater selection of nightlife, restaurants and attractions, why not head for the coastal resort of Newquay (6 miles) Newquay is famed for its world-class surfing and has something for every taste and age including the popular Zoo, Waterworld indoor pool and the Blue Reef Aquarium. A perfect holiday base with activities to suit everyone. Truro (9 miles) the UK's most Southerly city is a vibrant centre of shopping, farmers markets, culture and impressive architecture right in the heart of Cornwall. Centre stage is Truro Cathedral. You will also find the River Fal, here you can catch a boat trip to Falmouth from the riverbank.
