  • "We had a wonderful time, we enjoyed the space outside when the sun came out."

loved the view of the beach and sea from the lounge, where we ate most our meals.

  • "The house is perfectly situated close to the beach, with excellent views and the games room was great."

A couple of things were however worthy of note. 1. Uphill hairpin bend turning onto driveway is difficult to negotiate, especially when wet. This could cause a car to skid or get stuck. 2. The large window in the lounge giving panoramic views across the bay has a failed double glazing unit and has condensation inside it which impairs the view.

The water would shoot out the tap randomly at night shower is electric and not the best pressure lack of glass tumblers Dishwasher constantly had warning signs on due to lack of “salt”. Didn’t run very well. no toilet paper garage key would not open garage door in games room with no key that has been open since arrival - security risk 9.30 checkout and 4pm checkin seems much wider than usual - is it really necessary? Whilst it’s perhaps not a requirement I’ve stayed at enough places that a basic provision of toilet paper, salt, pepper, sugar, washing up liquid, refuse bags is the bare minimum. I’ve stayed at places that have given biscuits sweets, milk and bottles of wine at the checkin - a very warm welcoming feeling. This place had NOTHING. We immediately had to rush off to a supermarket to get the basics. General state of repair was moderate to poor. Quite a few damaged items like blinds, flaky paintwork all over and one door (leading outside) was unlocked with no key. We only realised this after a few days. This place has amazing potential but it lacks touch from when you arrive and quite a few maintenance issues to sort out

I’m missing the view already. I really hope the house is available next year so we can rebook. Some of the house needs modernising but it didn’t spoil the holiday.

  • "Fabulous location right in the heart of Polzeath."

In general the property is a bit run down and in need of little renovation. eg Sofa broken, double glazing windows with condensation, in need of decorating ) However, it didn't really spoil anything and i guess the price to some extent reflected the condition of the house. We had a great holiday and the location is brilliant.

Thank you for your comments, we have noted all issues raised and they will be passed to our maintenance department. We hope to welcome you back very soon. John Bray Cornish Holidays on behalf of the owner. Property Owner

  • "This property was perfect for our stay - we know Polzeath well and have teenagers/young adults who simply want to surf and party."

Luckily, we met the owner who sorted out any problems we had straight away. She kindly brought us a bottle of wine. The maintenance people attended at 8am on the day we were leaving due to the downstairs loo not working, which didn't really bother us as there were other loo's. Otherwise we had nothing to do with Bray except paying for the holiday, we saw no one and heard nothing, except I received a call today while I was at work to ask for feedback. I hope this will suffice. Thank you.

Very spacious property. Loved the games room. Recycling instructions weren't very clear. Pillows, duvets and linen lovely, mattresses not so much. Well equipped kitchen, just needs wooden spoons, new tin opener and a water jug and it would be perfect! Lovely natural garden, not enclosed, lots of rabbits, dog went crazy. Great drying room, perfect for wetsuits. Big freezer, not clear in blurb so I would have shopped differently had I known. Would stay again.

Thank you for taking the time to complete feedback from your recent stay. We're pleased you loved the location and space the property provided as well as the outside area. • "Great location, hasn’t been redecorated for 20years, it is spacious."

Let down by little things. The only shower is 25 years old and wasn’t very powerful when it was new. No coffee machine or hair dryer. Towels and linen were good. View from the kitchen sink is amazing, not so much from other spots. It’s an ok price for an ok house in a great location.

Hello Mark, The property was redecorated in June 2022 and the shower was replaced less than 3 years ago which is a standard electric shower. The property has some of the best views in Polzeath from both the kitchen and the Lounge area due to the fact it looks down on the sea from the hillside as can be seen from the pictures in the advert. I'm sorry that you found our house to be just 'ok' and hope that you find something more suitable for your next stay. p.s delighted you enjoyed the towels and linen Property Owner

  • "Hi there We absolutely loved our stay!"

Would book again for next year if only it was available! Just a couple of points that might improve someone’s stay… The winch arm for the garage could possibly be labelled and put in an obvious place for guests to use the garage. If The hose at the bottom of the steps could be connected we would have used it to wash beach shes and feet before entering the house. Prevents sand on the carpets. The kitchen Could definitely do with more user friendly chopping boards - the ones provided were extremely heavy marble and wood. A measuring scale and sieve would have been really useful. The shower was blocked on our arrival - we mentioned it to John Bray … my husband managed to sort it out before the maintenance guys came - apologies for using their time. The games room was brilliant and was great for the teenagers! My 93 year old mother loved the views from the big windows and we had such a wonderful time. Thank you again for letting the property. Regards Family Stewart.

Great location and the kids have loved being so close to the beach, very convenient. We’ve also loved the games room and sitting in the living room with that amazing view. The rabbits outside have kept the kids entertained too, very cute. The only things we would say we missed were a tin opener and some egg cups but apart from that we had everything we needed. A lovely holiday in a lovely house. Would love to return one day. Thanks Simon, Heidi, Robert, Ellie, Fred and Rosie x

Would only stay again if the following changes are made. Shower should be installed over the bath Either curtains or blackout blinds in the bedrooms Coffee making facilities should be provided Are the ceilings asbestos? If so this should be removed

We can assure you there is no asbestos in this property! There is a separate shower unit additional to two baths. The blinds were installed last month in every bedroom as they are a cleaner alternative to curtains.
