  • "A wonderful bungalow, we were sad to leave."

    It looks small from the front, but hides a Tardis-like spaciousness. Everything is clean, bright and high-quality. You can dine with a sea-view, sunbathe on the decking furniture, and sit beside the well-appointed kitchen for breakfast. There's plenty of room for everyone to watch the telly, with a few games and books provided. Handy extras include a second fridge, dishwasher, washer-dryer and Bluetooth speaker. A gate (LEFT of the shed) leads to a lane and path down to the fantastic and popular beach. (Five minutes with steps and descent, though you can also get there by road.) The guide for guests is useful and thoughtful. The hosts had left us a lovely spread of welcome provender, and the local rabbits had also laid out their slightly less welcome gifts on the lawn. There's even a postbox nearby, if you can afford stamps for postcards these days. And my wife fell in love with the Emma mattress. Downsides are minor. Be careful reversing out onto the lane and be mindful of the patio steps. An extra front door key would be handy for split parties, but the back door key can be used. Bring charging plugs, there are no USB sockets here. And you need to get to grips with the new-fangled induction hob thingy, with its cunning suction fan. (Where does the steam go?!) The rabbit deposits no doubt fertilise the lawn, but they also make it unsuitable for leisure. Still a fantastic place to stay though.

  • "Had a lovely stay at Polwen over the Easter bank holiday weekend."

    What a brilliant holiday home! Location (just a few minutes walk from the beach), style (beautifully decorated) and amenities (had everything we needed) were top notch. We were six of us and the cottage worked really well for us and our dog. I would absolutely recommend staying at Polwen, one of the best places we've stayed in the Harlyn Bay area. Thank you!

  • "The bungalow was absolutely perfect in location and situation within a short walk to the gorgeous Harlyn bay beach."

    Pristine and comfortable ,well equipped kitchen ,spacious showers, beds were verycomfortable. Central heating when we did need it in the evening was simple and easy to adjust.Smart TV worked really well . Great grassy garden for the dog to run around in but also safe there was no escape route!

    So glad that you had an enjoyable and comfortable stay. We love it for the exact same reasons. Our dog loves the beach!! Property Owner

  • "This is a lovely house and we had a lovely week with our 2 dogs."

    The path to the beach from the garden was perfect for us. The garden is fully enclosed so the dogs were safe. The welcome pack was a lovely surprise and very appreciated. The bedrooms would really benefit from blackout curtains, the current blinds aren’t sufficient to keep the rising sun out or the security light at the front of the house. The front bedroom is also quite noisy with cars coming past in the night if you’re easily disturbed. The blind cords also need securing properly. Other than those few little things, it was really well equipped, really comfortable and the bed was lovely. We will come back to stay again.

  • "Polwen is a beautiful holiday home."

    Love the style and decor. Very well thought out with everything you need for a fabulous holiday. The safe and secure garden is ideal for our dog. There's a 2 min walk to the stunning beach and acces to the coastal path. Things to add, it would be useful to know what day bins are collected as the bins hadn't been emptied. This was not an issue as there was plenty of room left. We visited during a really bad storm. Power cuts were regular but we had great support from the property manager. I would have .I've a broom so I could sweep the deck area after the storm. It would also be useful in the house duets sand from shoes. Great investment for the future would be an EV charging point On the whole I would visit this beautiful home anytime. We had the best night's sleep ever in a holiday home. 10/10 xx

    The property was immaculately clean and extremely well furnished for ease of living and comfort. The beds exceptionally comfortable! The kitchen was exceedingly well equipped and the garden secure for our dog to enjoy. The short walk from the garden to beautiful Harlyn Bay was a huge bonus. The laundry room with the boiler did an excellent job drying any wet things rapidly. The thoughtful welcoming gift on arrival was lovely and much appreciated. We had a wonderful week and would highly recommend Polwen.

  • "This property is a little gem!"

    The most well equipped holiday property we have ever stayed in. The attention to detail was perfect for a holiday retreat, everything about it oozed quality. The location is just perfect minutes from the beach, I could not fault a thing, was sad to be leaving and already I'm looking in my diary to see when we can go back! And to think I nearly didn't book it because it didn't have any reviews and I love to read reviews when making a decision (so I felt compelled to write this one and share the love!)

Harlyn is a charming little village, with a large crescent shaped sandy beach, safe for swimming, surfing and dog friendly all year round. Harlyn Bay is considered to be one of the best family beaches in Cornwall with a north-facing shore, beckoning surfers to brave the white waves that surge towards golden sands. Connected to the South West Coastal Path and part of the 'Seven Bays for Seven Days' area this is also an ideal location for walkers to explore the beautiful Cornish countryside. Constantine Bay just two miles away offers golf at the Trevose Championship course. Nearby Padstow lies at the head of the Camel Trail along the Camel Estuary and local cycle hire shops enable visitors to enjoy the area easily. Padstow is a delightful fishing port offering ample opportunity to taste locally sourced produce, as well as the award-winning Camel Valley wines, in celebrity owned establishments. Local fisherman's boats offer coastal tours and sea fishing trips, while a passenger ferry takes you across the estuary to Rock with the windsurfing beach of Daymer Bay and golf at the famous St Enedoc course. Just around the corner toward Pentire Head is the surfing paradise at Polzeath, and when the beach no longer calls there are several stately homes and gardens to visit as well as special events at the Cornish County Showground.
