The property

Jacobstow 2.3 miles.

Located on a small holding with livestock, close to the small village of Jacobstow in North Cornwall is Primrose End, a quaint ground floor apartment, ideal for a romantic retreat for a couple wanting to explore the picturesque coast and countryside of North Cornwall.

Take the steps up into the property to find a wonderful open-plan living space, with a contemporary, well-equipped kitchen, where you can conjure up delicious meals to be enjoyed at the dining table together, before retiring on the inviting sofa, in front of the warming woodburning stove as you choose a DVD to watch and have a cosy movie night in.

When it's time to catch a good night's rest, the double bedroom is a calming space with soft carpeting, a feature navy blue wall and storage space for your belongings, while you can prepare for each new day with a long soak in the P-shaped bath, or use the overhead shower if you're in a hurry.

Spend time outside in the spacious rear garden, boasting a large lawn, outlined by pretty flora, with a seating area where you can dine alfresco and soak up your peaceful surroundings.

Jacobstow is a short drive away, offering a convenience store to stock up on any essentials, as well as a pub serving wonderful food and real ales, perfect for a date night.

The coastal town of Bude offers a choice of wonderful beaches, all boasting rolling waves making them extremely popular with surfers, as well as rockpools to explore at low tide and cafés to sit back in and enjoy the views, making it the ideal spot for an afternoon in the sunshine.

There is also an indoor swimming pool, a superb golf course, a bowling alley and a stunning 19th century castle with heritage centre, as well as an extensive choice of shops, supermarkets, cafe's, pubs and restaurants.

Join the South West Coast Path, which spans the entire coast, venturing west down the coast towards the historic village of Tintagel, passing a selection of beaches and coves, Pentargon Waterfall at Boscastle, the mystical Museum of Witchcraft and Magic and St Nectan's Glen nature reserve, which boasts a 60ft waterfall.

Tintagel itself boasts a long history and is known to be the birthplace of King Arthur, who resides at Tintagel Castle, the ruins of which are well worth visiting, as well as Merlin's Cave, the Gallos Sculpture and the historic Old Post Office.

Primrose End is a wonderful retreat for your next couple's getaway in North Cornwall.

About the location

Bude 7.5 miles.

The small village of Jacobstow in North Cornwall has a church and a Holy Well. The nearest shop and pub are situated close by at Wainhouse Corner, with the children and dog-friendly Old Wainhouse Inn offering good food and real ales. Within reach is Bude, a fabulous coastal town that once visited you will want to come back to time and time again. Bude has something for everyone, great beaches for relaxing, and building sandcastles on, rockpools for investigating at low tide and cafe's to watch it all from. The rolling waves are great for surfing all year round, and the footpaths by the restored canal or on the North Cornwall coastal path offer you a superb opportunity to explore and appreciate the outstanding countryside. Bude also has a superb golf course, indoor swimming pool, bowling alley/indoor play area and Heritage Centre at Bude Castle. It also has a good selection of local shops, supermarkets, cafe's, pubs, restaurants and excellent Information Centre, plus within walking distance are the remains of a huge iron age hill fort at Warbstow Bury, from where panoramic views can be seen. For days out, take the coast road north to see the lonely lighthouse above the sea at Hartland Point or walk or ride a donkey down the steep and cobbled village street (no cars allowed) of beautiful Clovelly to the harbour and the pub far below. Follow the coast in the other direction and there's the little cove of Crackington Haven, Boscastle, King Arthur's castle at Tintagel, Doc Martin's Port Wenn at Port Isaac and yet more great surfing beaches at Polzeath.
