  • "We absolutely love The Old Post Office, it is warm, damp free ( unusual for a historic Cornish property) and it has all the equipment you need for a very comfortable stay."

    Andrew and Paul are very friendly but not intrusive, and advise their guests, if there is a village activity they may like to attend. This trip was the Praze Christmas light “switch on”. The dogs love the walks available on the door step. There is a cricket ground for a quick run round or for a longer adventure there is the Clowance Estate.

  • "I, my husband and our dog had a fabulous week away at the old post office."

    We had a lovely warm welcome and the lovely touches were such a delightful extra. The Christmas tree, decorations, jigsaw and cake were so lovely. The cottage was clean and exceeded our expectations. We loved it there and felt so at home. Thank you and we hope to return.

  • "Absolutely beautiful accommodation."

    One of the best equipped rental properties we have had, from kitchen utensils through to cleaning materials nothing was lacking. The beds were so comfy and with top quality Linen. Location is really good with so many attractions and resorts no more than half an hour away. Having a friendly and welcoming pub right next door was an great Bonus. Hope to visit again some day.

  • "The property is probably the best one we have stayed in for comfort, cleanliness and facilities."

    The Old Post office has been recently refurbished to a very high standard and retains a lot of the original features which have been incorporated into the now modern look of this Grade 2 listed building. The owners Andrew and Paul are very knowledgeable regarding the area and can give recommendations of where to visit and some great places to eat. All in all we had a great stay and would not hesitate to book again.

  • "Me and my family had a great time here!"

    House was clean, beds were comfortable, plenty of space for all 6 of us. Dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer were very useful. Great off street parking for our 2 cars. Nice little village location, centrally located. Self check in/out was straight forward. Owner came to say Hi when we arrived. Highly recommended!

  • "My family and I had a wonderful stay, the amenities and surrounding area was perfect and the accommodation was a wonderful surprise, the photos did not do it justice in my opinion."

    Our hosts were tentative and provided valuable information on places to visit and answered queries promptly. Overall we would definitely recommend staying at the old post office, we would love to book it on a regular basis for future family breaks for sure.

  • "Brilliant holiday accommodation, every aspect of the accommodation was of a high standard, excellent kitchen, a huge but very easy to use oven and a fantastic fridge freezer made for stress free meal prep."

    Bathrooms were beautiful, spotless and had super hot water. All bedrooms were very comfortable and spacious with good quality linen. Would have no hesitation in recommending to friends. The location is ideal, with easy reach of many walking routes, the views from Tregonning, Tresowes and Godolphin were fab. Surfing beaches can be reached in under 20 minutes.

  • "We loved staying at The Old Post Office, it has everything we needed for our weeks stay."

    It is well equipped in the kitchen from toaster to dishwasher, washing machine and a dryer. Although the rooms are large it is perfectly heated so we were warm and dry. Our hosts, Andrew and Paul really went the extra mile, asking, before our stay if we would like decorations for Christmas. It was amazing I have never seen such a large tree, really festive. We will definitely return.

    The property is spotlessly clean, comfortable beds, amazing shower and the kitchen is equipped with anything you could possibly need.   • "On arrival we were warmly welcomed by the owners and, throughout the week we met them several times."

    They gave suggestions for places to visit, and friendly conversations added to our holiday experience. The house is beautiful and spacious with everything finished to a high standard. The kitchen is brilliantly equipped, the bathrooms are wonderful with two basins and great showers, the beds are huge and luxurious and inside and outside seating is comfortable and plentiful. The house is in a great position for accessing all areas of south Cornwall. We have stayed in many holiday homes and this one was right up with the very best!

  • "This was an amazing property, the facilities were great and the photos simply do not do it justice."

    It has been renovated to a really high standard with modern touches but keeping original features which enhance the whole experience. There is everything you need at the ‘old post office’ for a comfy stay, I just have to mention the bed…. It was wonderful and really good quality linen. Situated with a village green and a shop literally 2 minutes away and nestled between a pasty shop one side and a pub the other side what more can you ask for…The hosts were so friendly and welcoming and on hand if you needed them. We can’t wait to return…. Accommodation, perfect….Location, perfect…Hosts, perfect….

    Fabulously presented house with extensive rooms, most comfortable super king beds with quality bedding. Powerful showers set in spacious bathrooms with his and her sinks. Fully equipped superb kitchen, great outside space ideal for lounging or eating, plus the friendliest of hosts. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this fully refurbished characteristic listed building.

The property

The Old Post Office is a fabulous, charismatic, mid terraced house set in the pretty village square of Praze an Beeble, Cornwall.

Ideally located for discovering all of Cornwall and close to the stunning Lizard Peninsula, it offers spacious accommodation for six guests, making the perfect haven for families, friends and couples.

Designed with elegance and retaining its character, the interior is set over three floors.

Step into the entrance hallway, leading into the generous and charming sitting/dining room.

The granite hearth with wood burner, beams and lots of comfy sofas create a relaxing social space.

Come together around the dining table for feasts and regale stories from the day’s adventures.

The modern kitchen has all the appliances, including a range oven.

The first floor is host to the first of the three roomy bedrooms, with a super-king zip/link bed and a chic Jack and Jill en-suite shower room with twin washbasins.

The landing has a desk, creating a little study area.

On the top floor you’ll find a comfortable king zip/link bedroom and a twin to super-king zip/link bedroom, both with feature walls.

The smart separate shower room has dual basins again.

At the rear of the cottage is the enclosed courtyard garden, with dining garden furniture for sunshine breakfasts and sundowner drinks.

There is off road parking for two cars.

The Old Post Office is ideally located for beach escapades.

Hayle Towans has a big expanse of sand, just 7 miles away, and the picturesque resort of St Ives with Harbour Beach, boutiques and galleries to browse, and the iconic landmark of St Michaels Mount at Marazion is within a 13 mile radius.

With water sports, rock pooling, surf schools and coast path rambling, there is something for everyone. Visit the magnificent Lizard Peninsula and stroll along the deep harbour walls at Mullion Cove or take a diving excursion to see the dozens of shipwrecks off the notorious Manacles. Back at your holiday home, neighbouring St Aubyn Arms is a family friendly ‘steak and ale’ inn and restaurant serving a good range of cask ales.

To the other side, there’s Philps Bakery and Pasty shop, with the grocery store for provisions over the road.

The Old Post Office will become the retreat you return to, year after year.

PRAZE-AN-BEEBLE

Camborne 3 miles ; Helston 6 miles ; Hayle 6 miles

Tucked away in the countryside between Camborne and Helston, the friendly little village of Praze an Beeble has a real sense of community. With a traditional Cornish pub, a Post Office, village shop, bakery and a fish & chip shop it has everything you could need. The village green is the hub of the community, and many family friendly events take place here each year. Just outside the village, the Clowance Estate country club with holiday lodges offers a 9-hole golf course, other leisure activities and pleasant lakeside and woodland walks – and the sandy beaches of Portreath, Gwithian and Hayle are just a short drive away. Easily accessible from Praze an Beeble is the old market town of Helston with its boating lake and annual Flora Day – and from Helston, the much-loved harbour town of Porthleven is just a 5-minute drive.
