The property

Riverside Barn is a charming house resting in Stithians, Cornwall, a picturesque village close to the tranquil River Kennall.

Perfect for families and friends, this inviting retreat offers a flexible layout across two floors and welcomes dogs, making it an ideal base for exploring the surrounding countryside.

Pull into Riverside Barn and park with ease on the private off-road spaces.

As you step out, the gentle sound of the river flows nearby, mingling with birdsong and the rustic charm of the stone exterior.

This detached barn conversion promises character and comfort from the moment you arrive. Step inside and feel the cool flagstone floors beneath your feet as you enter the kitchen, a space designed for both practicality and pleasure.

Fire up the gas hob to create a hearty breakfast, or perch at the breakfast bar with a steaming cup of tea while planning the day ahead.

Every detail is here to make life easy, from the washing machine and fridge/freezer to the oven, kettle, toaster, and microwave, so you can cater for your group with confidence.

Move through to the sitting and dining room, where vaulted ceilings with exposed beams soar overhead and a granite hearth frames the woodburning stove.

Light the fire and let its glow fill the room as you gather around the dining table or sink into the seating for a relaxed evening.

The spiral staircase adds a flourish of character, leading to a snug tucked beneath the eaves, an inviting spot for quiet reading or a film night.

As the evening draws in, feel the warmth of the underfloor heating as you make your way to the bedrooms.

The ground floor offers a double and a twin, thoughtfully dressed for restful nights, alongside a bathroom with a deep bath for indulgent soaks and a walk-in shower for invigorating mornings.

Upstairs, the king-size bedroom boasts its own en-suite, perfect for a little extra privacy.

Outside, the soothing soundtrack of the River Kennall accompanies you on gentle strolls, and just a short wander brings you to a friendly village shop and a welcoming pub for a taste of Cornish hospitality. When it’s time to explore, head to Trelissick Garden, where sweeping parkland meets secret woodland paths and riverside views that beg to be photographed.

Journey to Pendennis Castle, perched above the sea, where interactive exhibits and panoramic battlements immerse you in centuries of history.

For a day by the water, visit Stithians Lake, a haven for watersports enthusiasts, birdwatchers, and those who simply want to savour a picnic with a backdrop of sparkling blue.

Riverside Barn offers a memorable escape, blending authentic character with an enviable location for discovering the best of Cornwall.

STITHIANS

Falmouth 7.8 miles; Truro 9.5 miles

This Cornish village and civil parish lies within the north-westerly fringes of Falmouth near the towns of Redruth and Helston as well as the city of Truro, a wonderful location for a holiday. The 300-acre Stithians Reservoir, a hot spot for birdwatching and watersports or scenic walks with the family, bounds the village on the west. Stithians also plays host to a shop, pub and parish church, yet is best-known for its agricultural show, one of the largest of its kind in the UK. Attractions and things to do nearby include Pendennis and St. Mawes Castle on the south coast, both constructed in the 16th century, the tranquil Trelissick Garden near the city of Truro offering wonderful views over the River Fal, and the beautiful Tregothnan Estate home to 40 hectares of land. You are also within easy reach of the Lost Gardens of Heligan and the Eden Project as well as the delightful fishing harbours of Fowey and Polperro along the Heritage Coast.
