“The view from the chalet was fantastic.”

We enjoyed sunshine and storms and stunning sunsets, all from the comfort of the sofa! It was also wonderful to be able to walk from the door following the coast path to Rame Head and Mount Edgcumbe. It took a few trips to carry all our luggage and food down the cliff path from the parking area, but well worth it to stay in an exiting and memorable location.

The property

At Whitsand Bay, a detached, cliffside chalet on one level with stunning 'ships ahoy!' views from Rame Head to Looe.

The position is breath-taking and perfect for the beach-lover and surfer.

It is fresh, light and contemporary with an open plan living/dining room and kitchen area with panoramic sea views.

There are two small bedrooms – a king-size double with 'nothing between you and the sea' views, and one with twin beds which zip-link to a king-size double and a family bathroom.

To the side of the chalet there is a grassed area on two levels with picnic table (small children beware) for enjoying those al fresco meals or sundowners, and at the back there is a shed with an additional toilet, sink and a washing machine.

Nearby is Mount Edgcumbe Country Park and foot/car ferries to Plymouth.

A wonderful place, great for watching the sun rise.

About the location

WHITSAND BAY

Torpoint 5 miles.

Set in a bowl of hills at the head of a tidal creek that leads to the Hamoaze, opposite the great naval city of Plymouth, Millbrook is located on the Rame Peninsula, "Cornwall's Forgotten Corner". Bounded by the Lynher and Tamar rivers, the Hamoaze and the sea, the area is deeply rural and designated as one of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The village has a good range of shops and pubs, while close by are the pretty coastal villages of Kingsand and Cawsand, from which a ferry will take you to Plymouth. Along the southern edges of the peninsula are miles of beautiful walks with glorious views of Rame Head. Just a mile south of Millbrook lies Whitsand Bay with its miles of uncrowded sandy RNLI patrolled beach and dramatic cliffs. A superb base for discovering the wild side of Cornwall.

Region Information

Note: Parking permit provided from 1 April to 30 September. About 100 yards of steep cliff footpath, ending in 24 steps, lead to it from the road.
