Lovely location, with good, if expensive, pub nearby. Victoria gave us some freshly picked salad from the garden, which was appreciated. All in all a lovely place and location, couldn't fault it.

"The Old Swill House is a great place to stay while visiting the surrounding area."
It appears to date back to 1753 and has been respectfully restored and then well equipped. It was a very comfortable base for 2 adults, 1 child and a dog. The hosts Victoria & Martin, were amazing. Victoria gave us flowers and fresh salad from their garden and was available if required. What was particularly nice was Victoria spending time with our daughter chatting about the farm. It is a working farm but during our visit it was very quiet. If you can, try to arrange to visit the hosts private garden, it's wonderful. We definitely recommend this property. The Foxham which is a short walk away from the cottage is also well worth a visit.

"Excellent place for visiting North-East Wiltshire."
Very spacious and well laid out. Everything looks new.
Owner very friendly and helpful.
Well equipped. If we had had more detail about what was provided we would have brought less with us.
Plenty of drawer space, but not many hangers (or room to hang clothes) particularly in upstairs bedroom.
Very good bath with shower. A grab rail for shower would have been helpful for older people.
Young children will need to be supervised outdoors due to occasional tractor passing by.

"We had a wonderful holiday."
Wiltshire is a very underrated county, there is lots to do and explore.
We spent three days at the Chippenham Folk Festival, explored the archaeology of the area and had fun with our family on a day boat on the Kennet and Avon Canal.
The Old Swill House is a great place to stay. It has been sensitively restored and is extremely well equipped and comfortable.

In addition the hosts are delightful and really helpful. Lots of walks around the area as well and easy access to lots of attractions - Lacock Abbey, Bath, Corsham. "The Old Swill House has been renovated and decorated to a high standard."
Its location on a working farm, tucked away in a corner of rural Wiltshire makes it an ideal base to rest locally and explore more widely by car. Public footpath walks from doorsteps, excellent local pub within 10 minutes walk, quiet roads. We loved our stay, the cottage is spacious, bright, high quality finish - custom curtains, black out curtains in bedrooms, comfortable bedding, stone flooring, excellent heating, well provisioned … we all loved it and the owners live nearby so we were welcomed and made to feel at home. Thank you.

"This was my second time back at the Old Swill House."
I was welcomed by name, greeted with a fire in my fireplace (they remembered I love fires), and a bouquet of fresh flowers in the cottage. I honestly felt like a family member coming back home. Everything was so lovely, clean and very welcoming. I’d stay here for six months if I could but alas I am only allowed 2 months at a time. Victoria is an amazing host and her staff, especially Claire, are so wonderful. I’ll be back!

The owners Victoria and Martin were so welcoming and have really thought of everything. The cottage is immaculate and very tastefully furnished. There was every amenity that you could hope to have! We took our 2 year boy and he loved being on the farm yard and Victoria kindly showed us the cows and chickens which he loved! We took our 2 dogs and there were plenty of footpaths to walk them along. There is a decent local pub only a short walk away and it was dog friendly. Plenty of nearby sights to go see. "What a find!"
We had a wonderful weekend at the Old Swill House. It has been beautifully renovated and is spacious yet cosy and both luxurious and comfortable. The kids loved playing in the farmyard and meeting the animals (chickens, cows, a new-born calf and the farm cat). And at the end of the day, we enjoyed relaxing in front of the wood-burning stove with a glass of wine. Victoria, our host, gave us a warm welcome and was on hand if we needed anything. There’s a good pub in the village (5 minute walk) and lots to do in the surrounding area, with Avebury a short drive away. What more do you need? We will definitely be back.

The standards of the facilities and all the fixtures, fittings and furnishings is exceptional - it felt like a really special place to be. "We (my wife and I, our two girls aged 7 and 4 and our Cockapoo) had the honour of being the first guests to stay at this lovely property and we loved every minute of it."
The property is a lovingly and sympathetically converted old cow shed and is literally in the middle of an old working (but peaceful) farmyard, with your only real neighbours being cows, bulls and chickens.
We had some lovely walks exploring the grounds, warming ourselves up by the big woodburner when we got back.
Foxham is a charming and authentic rural village with a nice local pub just a minute's drive away from the property.
We would recommend this place and will be back.
