    The cottage is equipped to high standards which makes for a comfortable stay. Although the cottage is located in a very peaceful setting it also affords easy access to local dining and shopping facilities.

  • "Incredible."

    Stayed for a few days after our wedding. The interior decor was brilliant, every detail really well thought through, comfortable bed, lovely shower and roll top bath. Kitchen had everything you could possibly need and well equipped so we could make some nice dinners in. The welcome book was very informative of some of the best food and drink spots as well as some great walks. Now planning to redecorate our own house it was all so lovely left feeling very relaxed and inspired.

  • "Cottage is beautifully decorated."

    But way too pokey and small. Steep narrow stairs meant our elderly mum had to sleep downstairs on lounge. No way could we get our suitcases upstairs either. Toilet on 2nd floor only .. very inconvenient. Noisy neighbourhood, gardens are not good, front and back. Perhaps a fence out the back to hide the filth and mess next door. Old bags of potting mix in front of cottage been there for some time. Weeds and overgrowth.

  • "Absolutely lovely little cottage."

  • "The property is not suitable for 4 adults sharing,mattress in second room uncomfortable, no parasol umbrella in the outside seating area, garden is a mess, toaster takes ages to toast bread, no step leading to outside seating area small stone wall you stand on to this area is unsafe( accident waiting to happen ) unfortunately would not return."

It is not reflective of our previous guests’ experiences and certainly not what we would wish our guests to feel, and so it is important to us to receive honest feedback. Whilst we cater for up to 4 people, and of course supply appropriate items, as a cosy period cottage we appreciate that we may not have the accommodation to satisfy larger groups if they prefer a little more space. We have tried hard to accurately convey our space and what furnishings etc we do actually have available in the photos and listing description. We will review these again to ensure that no misunderstandings may occur. I understand from our neighbours that you spent quite some time in the rear common area beyond our patio garden. Although it is not really intended to form part of our recreational space, some work is being undertaken there and we appreciate that area is not looking its best at the moment, so I am sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused you.   • "Beautiful and charming cottage renovated to a high standard with all the little added touches for a comfortable and welcoming stay."

    Ideal location within walking distance of the village. Although in very close proximity to the local pub, we were surprised how quiet it was. Laura is a great host and we will definitely back!

  • "We were very happy with the cleanliness of the cottage, the luxurious interior and the personal touch aimed to make the guests comfortable."

    Also the extra instructions in the folder explaining the region (e.g. explanation of local walks and facilities in the village), but also the explanation on how to operate everything in and around the house was very much appreciated. The kitchen was very well equipped and much to our liking. Our family of four (2 adults, 2 teenagers) enjoyed every moment of the stay!

    We had such a fantastic time and couldn’t have asked for a better escape in the peaceful countryside. Everything was spotlessly clean, the kitchen was fully equipped, the beds were super comfortable and the shower was great. The whole place is finished to a really high standard. The owner was very helpful and provided a really useful welcome pack. The weather was perfect all week which made our stay even more special.

  • "This beautifully presented and immaculately clean cottage was a joy to stay in."

    Thoughtful little touches just add to the pleasure. Face cleaning wipes keep the soft white towels immaculate and luxury hand soap/washing up liquid dispensers add to the luxury feel. Throws and a log burner kept us extra cosy through some extreme weather. Lots of good walks from the door and very friendly locals kept us amused. Great eateries and cafe stops in village and many lovely villages around to explore.

  • "We're a family of four (boys aged 4 & 6) and we simply could not have wished for a more perfect place for our New Year break."

    The cottage is beautiful and homely, with everything finished to such a fabulous standard. The welcome pack is comprehensive and super helpful - we especially appreciated the local walk section. We were greeted with a Happy New Year banner and lovely Christmas decorations and wonderful welcome treats. Our boys loved being up in the top room and the selection of games was great for us all. Although we didn't need them, the hosts were on hand for any problems and the communication was fantastic. We thoroughly enjoyed the log burner and the location was just brilliant. We can't wait to visit again, we would recommend Thorn Cottage to anyone who wants to stay in The Cotswolds.

  • "Opened the door to a cosy living room, looked so inviting and comfortable."

    Spotlessly clean , with great quality cooking utensils in the cottage kitchen. Bedrooms both lovely and the bathroom, great shower and relaxing bath . Great location for visiting other Attractions/ villages near by . Would definitely recommend a great enjoyable stay had by us all.

  • "It was a pleasure to stay at the beautiful Thorn Cottage with my wife and two young children (3 year old and 6 week old) The cottage has been renovated to a very high standard and is situated in the attractive town of Fairford."

    The host went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable and enjoyed our stay, including installing a stair gate for our peace of mind. On arrival there was a lovely welcome package and we were pleased to discover that the cottage is very well equipped. We can’t rate this cottage highly enough. Thank you for having us.

  • "A beautiful little cottage exquisitely furnished and decorated with no expense spared."

    Lovely bathroom with a superb big walk in shower. We've been renting cottages for at least forty years and this is right up there with the best. The only criticism and it's not really a fault is the stone spiral staircase could be a problem for people that have problems walking including small children. By the way thanks for the welcome pack and the lovely card.

The thriving market town of Fairford nestles on the River Coln, on the edge of the Cotswolds, and offers many amenities including individual shops, cafes and traditional pubs, as well as hosting a weekly country market offering homegrown and homemade produce and country crafts. RAF Fairford is home of the Royal International Air Tattoo, held in July every year, one of the largest military air shows in the world with a reputation as one of the UK's top outdoor family events. Just a short drive away is the beautiful Roman town of Cirencester, gateway to the Cotswolds, which offers excellent shopping, restaurants, ancient buildings, museums and antique markets. The Cotswold Water Park is Britain’s largest water park, set in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, covering 40 square miles and made up of over 40 lakes. A wide range of activities is on offer including water skiing, cycling, horse riding, boating, golf and fishing and for the nature lovers the park offers an abundance of bird and animal life, all of which can be seen throughout the year on the three nature reserves.
