"A Perfect Stay for Us and Our Pup!"
We had the most wonderful weekend staying at this immaculate annexe. The attention to detail was incredible—my French bulldog, Hector, couldn’t get enough of the built-in bouncy dog bed, which he used as both a trampoline and a cozy nap spot! The location was perfect, nestled in a charming village with plenty of dog-friendly activities nearby, and just a short trip to Oxford. The owners were incredibly friendly and made sure we had everything we needed. If you're looking for a relaxing, pet-friendly getaway, this is the place!

"This was a lovely stay in a great location."
The hosts were friendly & were even there on arrival to greet us. They really went above & beyond. Inside the property they had created a little folder with instructions on how to use the appliances within the property and provided useful information such as where to eat, drink, visit & even taxi numbers. The property was clean & spacious. It matched the description and photos accurately. We would highly recommend this stay to anyone visiting the Cotswolds!

Very clean and well presented, with everything you could need for a comfortable stay. Chris and Ruth are great hosts, although we had no need to refer to them (everything was perfect and well explained in the property booklet), they came out to say hello and have a chat when they saw us outside. A lovely little seating area at the back of the property should you wish to sit out for a drink. Ideally situated for visiting attractions in the area, I would certainly recommend it to anyone wanting a break away.

"A great place in a great location to spend 4 days."
Property is a studio but it was big enough for the two of us. It was well and thoughtfully furnished and the kitchen area was well equipped. The owners were friendly, helpful and they recommended the excellent Carpenters Arms for dinner. We would recommend the Rookery without hesitation

"The hosts were charming and attentive, being happy to cater for all needs."
They provided a lovely stay, where the location enabled us to walk into Burford and was a short distance from Diddly Squat Farm, Witney and even convenient for Bicester designer outlet. A very enjoyable break and we would definitely recommend The Rookery for the perfect Cotswold holiday.

"The location was nice and the apartment itself had all the basics."
However, we really struggled with the sloping ceilings and both hit our heads half a dozen times in the first 24 hours (I am only 5 feet 4 inches). At £196 per night, we thought it a little overpriced as it was quite small, no dishwasher or washing machine, no shampoo. No major issues with the property but it just didn't work for us.

"Very comfortable stay at The Rookery."
Just watch your head on the slanted ceilings. Although this was a dog friendly listing, there isn't anywhere for dogs to toilet, apart from going across the road to the fields. The road was quite busy and no actual path to walk on to get to the gate for the field. Would suggest the verge be strimmed to allow you to walk in safety. Overall a lovely stay. Would recommend.

"A charming place to have a retreat in the Cotswolds."
Very cosy and cute barn conversion with all the ammenitities you could ask for. Dog friendly with a lovely big dog bed in the wall, our boy loved having his own space. All the little touches in the cottage make it a very inviting place to stay. Nice walk across the fields directly opposite the cottage. Burford main highstreet within walking in distance too. Had dinner at the pub down the road which was delicious. Experience was the perfect weekend getaway with impeccable accommodation. Highly recommended.

BURFORD

Burford is possibly one of, if not the most famous of the Cotswolds' locations. With its medieval bridge, old stone houses and attractive Tudor and Georgian frontages, it is justifiably one of the most picturesque towns in England. Often referred to as the 'Gateway to the Cotswolds', the town was originally a fortified Anglo-Saxon ford which later grew to be an important regional crossroads and wealthy wool town. Located midway between Oxford and Cheltenham, it is a little haven of history and beauty that many come to fall in love with when they visit. The 16th century Tolsey building, once the meeting place for medieval merchants, now houses The Tolsey Museum, a delightful local museum illustrating the town's social and industrial past. The church is stunning, a real gem architecturally with many interesting memorials charting some of Burford's great families. There is also the signature, on the baptisimal font, of Antony Sedley, one of the Levellers besieged in the church in 1649 - three of the ringleaders were executed by Oliver Cromwell's men in the churchyard. History awaits! With little change over the centuries, Burford is now very popular with visitors, both for its beauty and history but also for its shopping and antiques, and for the wide variety of places to eat, with restaurants, pubs and tea shops. It is an ideal base for visiting The Cotswolds area as it is within easy driving distance of popular attractions such as Blenheim Palace, Sudeley Castle, Warwick Castle and several National Trust Houses and Gardens. Bourton on the Water, Bibury, Cirencester and Stow on the Wold are all within ten miles.
