  • "We really enjoyed the cabin and it suited our needs well, especially as it allowed my 86 year old father to enjoy fishing."

Some of the fittings were of poor quality and loose/faulty (bathroom door lock/shower door). It would also have been good to have an electric kettle, rather than a traditional one which sits on the gas hob, and an electric toaster. I suspect these omissions were due to limited electric supply capacity in the cabins. Perhaps a small, lower-power, hotel-style kettle could be provided to allow enough water to make tea to be boiled as the hob kettle took a very long time to boil.

Never felt so at with nature and every morning brought something different. Other groups were present during our stay but couldn’t hear much from them which was as perfect. Though the experience was top, there could be a few things done to make the experience even better: 1. Address the issue with the closing of front door. Did have to slam door to properly close / lock. 2. A few sharp areas of the decking where knots have loosened / fallen off leaving sharp points. 3. Maybe some decking strips for wooden steps? 4. Decking treatment / sand down etc… Just a few pointers to aid you going forward

  • "I have been here 2 times before and loved it which is why we came back,Unfortunately everything seems to of not been maintained."

The front door does not lock which meant when we wanted to do days out we didn’t feel safe leaving belongings inside for too long. The plumbing in the toilet in constantly running through the night which I found it hard to sleep with this noise being so loud. Pots and pans could do with replacing every few months or at least once a year not just putting foil on them you can see the rust and marks starting to form on them. The fishing nets and Matt is just left outside getting weathered and if you want to look after your fish I wouldn’t want a fish I owned to be put on those. The toilet rolls were never replenished (we had to go and buy more) and towels once over a 7 day period with no drying or washing facilities I think this should be more often especially with a hot tub to use.Lastly the decking outside seems to be rotting in places as where I was standing fishing over glass there was wood cracking whilst walking on it.The location its self I have recommend to many people and still will I just believe this time we don’t get what we paid for and you need to put a little money back into the lodge.

Thank you for your feedback We are always available to assist any guest during their stay if they have any questions/issues during their stay. Since reading your feedback we have checked the decking and although it can tend to creak in some weathers it isn't actually cracked, we also checked the door which we had no issue with and we are sorry to hear that you had a problem during your stay We are having the toilet checked and would like to mention that as the property is self catering we do not replace toilet rolls Thank you again for the feedback Property Owner

Absolutely beautiful area and couldn’t fault the cabin. The hot tub was lovely and so was the surrounding lake, geese, sheep and baby lambs! We took the advise from reading another review and brought our own electric kettle and toaster along as we didn’t want to wait around having to boil water on the gas stove and make toast in the grill oven, but everything else was well provided for. We had a curry night down at the local Lion Inn on our last evening and the food there is absolutely amazing! We enjoyed it so much that me and my husband have booked one of the smaller pods for the weekend for just the two of us again for June and November this year! Thank you to Salford Farm for a lovely week away. See you again in June! :) x

Great property and location. Very comfortable and warm. We had a very pleasant and relaxing week. Unfortunately had not appreciated that the lake is being developed as a specimen fishery. Fish are present but the style of fishing required is not suitable for the average child which was disappointing. The hot tub was a welcome and well used diversion. Would recommend, but with a reservation about family fishing.

I rarely leave feedback, but this lovely experience deserved recognition. Few things though, the approach road to the cabin is very rough is it possible to have some compact road than the loose stone which might damage the tyres. The most important thing missing was a toaster. If would make a great difference is you add toaster. Also the main door is bit off balance and it takes bit of pulling and lifting to lock the main door. Other than that we had very fantastic time there. Would love to visit again

The cabins weren’t too close so it was nice to have room and feel like you weren’t intruding on other guests as they were all booked. We met the owners and they were very pleasant. The location is secluded and on a farm, the track down is a little steep so was a bit tricky to drive down if you have a smaller vehicle but it’s very scenic when you get to the bottom. There are lots of walks in the area (albeit very hilly!) and a few pubs to try out as well as a friendly shopkeeper who runs the village shop. Facilities were nice, the hot tub and wood burning fire were fab touches! A few things to improve on would be to add a toaster, have some spare pillows and bedding for the sofa bed and the doors were quite squeaky and hard to shut and the front door was difficult to open and lock. Overall we had a fab relaxing weekend. We’ve already looked at rebooking and would love to return. Thank you!
