"Cottage was in an attractive location and space was not an issue."
Generally the facilities were adequate. However the cottage generally was tired and in need of improvement. The outside was not attractive and littered with odd bits and pieces and a broken fence at the front. The mattress was old and uncomfortable and in need of replacement. The door locks were difficult to operate as stated in a previous review. The Wi-Fi connection was intermittent and we could only get one tv to work. Although post it notes were helpful it would have been better to have had a short brochure giving details of how things worked and what was expected of us. There was no information for example with regard disposal of rubbish.
Generally a little disappointing.
Hi.
I am very sorry to read about the issues you had on here and was not aware you had them during your stay.
Had we of been contacted during your stay we would have been happy to help you and wonder why you did not just call me? we advise we were only a phone call away.

"We had an absolutely amazing stay at Joe's cottage."
Such a wonderful cottage in beautiful surroundings. Perfect location for visiting the stunning surrounding areas. Really helpful friendly hosts too! Myself and my husband visited with our 6 month old baby girl and it was perfect for us. Lovely wood burner that we felt safer using than an open fire ( especially with our baby) . Great layout and beautifully decorated. So much room but still very cosy. There was everything you could ever need, with a fully equipped kitchen. We really felt at home and didn't want to leave! We would highly recommend staying here and we definitely will visit again.

"We were greeted by the owner, who was very friendly and patient with us (our arrival was delayed)."
He gave us a full tour and explained how to operate the heating and everything. We enjoyed the simplicity how everything worked. The cottage was really cozy and well maintained. The view from the garden was wonderful and our daughter loved it very much too. It’s a great location to explore donegal and take a timeout in nature and we would come again sometime.

"We had an amazing time in Joe’s cottage."
The owners are very friendly, tea and cake was waiting for us, and John really took time to show us around. It is very well equipped and comfortable. The view from the living room is stunning, and we loved that we could sit in the garden during the sunnier days. It feels like a remote location, surrounded by nature, yet Ardara is only a 5 minutes drive. We’re definitely coming back!

"This place is like a slice of heaven."
Joes cottage is a fabulously restored cottage with exceptional views. Mary and John have put great time and effort into making sure everything you could possibly need for your a stay is catered for, and I mean everything (picnic baskets, stroller, kids thermometer, loads of clean towels etc).We arrived to a warm cottage with some treats on arrival, a map of all the local must sees and even new toys for our little 5 year old. Having stayed in many air B &Bs before this is by far the best one I have ever stayed at. They even had the fire laid for us and fuel for future fires. They were there to greet us on arrival and spent time going through how to use everything and gave us a history of the area. They checked in by text to see if we needed anything further and were in general just a delight. The cottage is close to all the scenic places to visit (sea caves, waterfall, dolmen) and is surrounded by beautiful beaches. The town of ardhara is 5 mins away by car. I can't rave about this place enough. We will definitely be going back. Thank you so much John and Mary for a lovely stay.

"The location was fantastic and the promised view lived up to the expectations."
Inside and outside the house there were so many places to sit and relax and take in the views and the sunsets. Have breakfast and dinner outside, relax in front of the fire and take in a lovely walk at Loughros point.
Just 2km from Ardara but more importantly there are amazing beaches, boat trips, the highest sea cliffs in Europe, neolithic sites and great food within easy reach.
The hosts left us lovely scones to get us going and gave us lots of information about the area.
I would definitely return to Joe's Cottage.
