The property

Welcome to the wild Atlantic way is a pleasant cottage resting near Carrigart, County Donegal, overlooking the beautiful waters of Mulroy Bay and set just moments from the start of the iconic Wild Atlantic Way.

With sea views, a garden, and ample off-road parking, this three‑bedroom retreat offers an inviting base for families or friends eager to explore this dramatic stretch of coastline.

Inside, the practical kitchen provides what you need for preparing simple meals before heading out on adventures, while the dining room encourages unhurried gatherings beside the gentle glow of the electric fire.

Evenings unfold easily in the sitting room, where you can settle in and take in the ever-changing skies over the bay; skies that often shift from soft greys to sweeping watercolour light, and on rare, clear nights, Donegal’s northern position even brings the possibility of glimpsing the Aurora Borealis.

Each of the three bedrooms has its own en-suite walk-in shower, basin, and WC, and a separate ground-floor bathroom with bath offers another place to freshen up or unwind.

Stepping outside, you’ll find yourself surrounded by scenery that has long drawn photographers, walkers, and families seeking memorable days out.

A gentle stroll brings you to Carrigart, a charming village framed by its bays and Victorian character, where you’ll find shops, pubs, and traditional hospitality.

Just across the water lies Downings, loved for its broad beaches, water sports, and lively seaside atmosphere.

Continue your adventures at Glenveagh National Park, home to rugged mountains, a lakeside castle, and trails suited to all ages.

Further afield, the scenic Atlantic Drive, the striking Fanad Head Lighthouse, and family-friendly Ards Forest Park offer captivating day trips before returning to your base at Welcome to the wild Atlantic way.
