  • "Although the cottage was clean and comfortable, and we appreciate that it's an awkward shape to arrange the accommodation, we would not recommend it for more than four people due to the layout of the bedrooms and the position of the one bathroom."

There were four of us and we just used the downstairs bedrooms so we could have easier access to the bathroom. Even so, the access for one of the bedrooms was through the kitchen, down a step and through the dining room. The shower was very good but the sink was tiny. The one car parking place was a bit tight especially when the very large and heavy commercial bin was placed in the way. Friday morning must have been bin day. We had to move it out of the way to get the car in and out on Thursday evening. The second car had to be parked about 10 minutes walk away as Cartmel village has limited car parking and gets very busy. Would have liked some instructions on waste collections and recycling. The bin just outside said 'just for food' but had general rubbish in it.

Cottage is behind a public house and the smell and noise from the food extractor was constant untill around 4 so could not sit outside The front door was very difficult to lock handle had to be forced up before locking can be done ( this needs looking at before something brakes) Step into the property is quite high for us older folk No guide on how to use the tv No information on how to use appliances and no visitors book This property is still a very good place as it is in a good position for the south lakes Bedroom was good , lounge was good and shower room was good Kitchen was good apart from there was no dish cloth etc to clean the dishes ( had to go and buy one ) Would definitely go back if these few things were sorted
