  • "We stayed for 2 nights at Parkside Paradise, Lyons Robin Hood, booked through the iCaravans4Hire website."

The booking process, payment, and communication regarding the location, check-in instructions, and key safe code were all seamless and straightforward, so we were looking forward to our stay. Unfortunately, once we arrived at the caravan, it was not what we expected. The biggest issue was the gas hob. One burner did not work at all, and the control knobs for the other three burners were broken, making them very difficult to turn on and off. As we were staying as a family with children and needed to cook our meals, this became a real struggle throughout our stay. I messaged the owner on the evening we checked in to report the issue. It appeared to be an old fault that should already have been known about, but I didn't receive a response until the evening before we checked out. The reply simply said, "Thanks for letting me know," with no attempt to resolve the issue during our stay. There were several other maintenance problems as well. One of the toilets had a broken flush button, leaving only the plastic mechanism exposed. In the main bathroom, the wash basin was missing the centre fitting, leaving just an open hole. The most frustrating issue was the fire alarm, which beeped approximately every 10 minutes throughout our stay. This was likely due to a low battery, but it made the caravan very uncomfortable, especially at night when trying to sleep. This is something that should have been checked before guests arrived. The beds were old and uncomfortable, making it difficult to get a good night's sleep. The Wi-Fi was also extremely poor and unreliable. Overall, while the location of the caravan is good, the caravan itself is in need of significant maintenance and attention. Basic issues like faulty cooking facilities, broken bathroom fittings, a constantly beeping fire alarm, uncomfortable beds, and poor Wi-Fi really affected our stay. I've attached photos to show the condition and the issues we encountered. Sadly, I wouldn't stay here again unless these problems were addressed.
