Well-suited to friends or families, this much-loved retreat blends characterful charm with practical living, creating a welcoming base for days spent discovering rolling hills, limestone valleys and lively market towns.

The open-plan layout allows conversation to flow easily from the well-equipped kitchen to the sitting area, where you can settle down after a day outdoors and enjoy a quiet evening in front of the television.

Everything has been thoughtfully arranged for self-catering stays, making it easy to prepare anything from simple breakfasts to hearty suppers inspired by local produce.

A gentle sense of calm continues through the rest of the property.

Two neatly presented bedrooms provide accommodation for your stay, each featuring a double bed, making the cottage an appealing choice for friends sharing or families seeking flexible sleeping arrangements.

A contemporary shower room completes the interior, featuring a walk-in shower, basin and WC, with bed linen and towels provided to simplify your stay.

Nearby Matlock Bath is known for its distinctive riverside setting and lively atmosphere, where you can ride the cable cars to the Heights of Abraham for panoramic views across the Derwent Valley, explore cavern tours, or wander along the promenade lined with cafés and amusements.

The town is also home to an aquarium and scenic walking routes that follow the river through dramatic countryside.

Matlock itself offers a different pace, with independent shops, traditional tearooms and green spaces such as Hall Leys Park, ideal for leisurely afternoons.

The Peak Rail heritage line provides a nostalgic journey through the valley aboard restored steam and diesel trains, while the surrounding Peak District invites exploration of walking trails, viewpoints and picturesque villages.

For a contrasting day out, the city of Derby brings cultural highlights, including the Museum of Making, the striking Derby Cathedral and a broad choice of shops and restaurants.

Cottage in the Heart of Peak District provides a charming and well-placed base for discovering the very best of Derbyshire.
