  • "Pear Tree Cottage was absolutely charming."

    We all agreed this was our best holiday ever. From the moment we came through the door from Bude Street into the courtyard we knew we were staying somewhere very special indeed. Pear Tree Cottage had everything we needed for our holiday. It smelt lovely, was super clean with great decoration and furnishings. The communal garden was a real bonus. Fabulous location. Would stay again without hesitation and would highly recommend for a super holiday.

  • "Lovely cottage, the courtyard had its own micro climate, which when it was so hot outside was very welcoming."

    Coattage had everything we needed. The beds were super comfortable. Pleased there was a bath and shower. I would suggest a mat for the bath, it was very slippery. The shower needed a holder on the wall to take shower items. The courtyard was beautifully maintained with gorgeous shrubs and flowers. Having the garden was lovely too. Will definitely recommend.

  • "Lovely cottage with courtyard and garden, Everything we could need was there."

    Great location near pubs coffee shops, Johns shop and waterfront. Always something going on in Appledore and people and dogs very friendly. Not being used to smart tvs we’re surprised when it put itself on in the early morning, also when disembodied voice told us there were problems with the internet, but that’s technology! Loved our stay.

The Village in a Village is a charming collection of properties located in their own courtyard hidden away in the heart of Appledore, North Devon.

It features a selection of stunning cottages set around a pretty courtyard, close to local amenities such as pubs, restaurants, and beaches.

With two bedrooms, pretty furnishings, and nearby attractions, it is a delightful base for two couples, friends, and families alike, as well as their four-legged companions.

Be welcomed into a light and airy sitting room, settling down into the stylish furniture and planning the day ahead of you with a cup of coffee, taking in the characterful wooden beams as you relax.

When mealtimes call, an amply fitted kitchen offers a spacious room for guests to cook together, as well as enjoy a heart-warming meal around the dining table over a bottle of fizz, or outside there is a communal garden where guests can recline at the end of the day and make the most of the last of the sunshine.

As the evening draws in, retire upstairs and take a relaxing soak in the bath, or a warm shower, before settling down into one of the two well presented rooms on offer, with the option of a double with a TV and a super-king-size with a TV, that can be set up as a twin on request.

The Village in a Village Cottages are a simply stunning selection of cottages, settled around a pretty courtyard in the seaside town of Appledore, Devon. Where the Taw and Torridge rivers meet, sits the delightful quayside village of Appledore, next to the River Torridge. Appledore boasts a small but great range of shops, pubs, guesthouses and art galleries. A thriving fishing and trading village since the 14th century, Appledore has been a famous boat-building centre for many years and the shipyard is still active today. Picturesque Appledore provides a peaceful base from which to explore North Devon, and is close to surf beaches.The Quay is very central to life in the village and it is here you will find many activities including fishing trips, crabbing contests on the quay, and sometimes Morris Dancers. This quaint fishing village has a maze of narrow streets leading to the quay.
Just four miles from Appledore,straddling the Torridge estuary, is the quaint bustling town of Bideford boasts a medieval bridge, town quay, quaint pannier market and vibrant shopping area - all well worth a visit. For the more active, several major surfing beaches, golf courses, theme parks and other attractions are nearby and the South West coast path passes close by on its way into Cornwall. The beautiful cliff-top fishing village of Clovelly is half an hour by road, and the delights of Exmoor and Dartmoor can be reached in under an hour. Surf the waves, stroll through pretty villages, wander along the Tarka Trail, visit a famous garden or have some fun at one of the local theme or farm parks – it’s all on the doorstep.
