Parking a bit of a challenge . Only negative was that not much to do in Axminster. Few good places to drink or eat.

  • "We had a great week stay at 9 Mitchel Gardens."

The accommodation is furnished to a very high standard and it was impeccably clean. It had all the mod cons such as Alexa and an Xbox and is modern, stylish and yet comfortable. It was a great base to go visiting both Devon and Dorset. We especially enjoyed crabbing off the Cobb in Lyme Regis and also visited exmouth beach for rock pooling and rode the trams at Seaton. A great stay, we would definitely recommend and definitely return here.

Nestled in outstanding peaceful countryside, Axminster is certainly a place to relax and unwind. Famous for its carpets, which are often likened to Turkish examples, it is one of Devon’s prettiest smaller towns. Situated on the River Axe and within easy reach of both the West Dorset and East Devon Jurassic Coast, Axminster has many attractions, including plenty of privately owned shops, a weekly market and excellent old inns, with one dating back 100 years with its own resident ghost!
