  • "All in all we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Thurlestone Rock."

However the main reason we booked this property was to take advantage of the swimming pool. To be advised just a few days before we we due to arrive that the pool would not be operational was a huge disappointment to us. I really feel that we should be due some recompense because of this and would welcome the opportunity to discuss this matter further. David Nash

  • "The property is amazing, it was so easy to unpack straight from the car and through the patio doors."

The property is spacious and really well kept. It is also well equipped- we usually bring pans and knives and extension cables etc but here we didn’t need them. The kitchen has everything you need, the bathrooms were lovely and the space worked well for what we needed. We are a family of 5 with 3 kids 9 and under. Being able to step out straight to the beach was amazing. Meant we could pop back in for the toilet or lunch or for a break and didn’t need to take everything and anything just in case as could easily pop back in for it. Unfortunately the pool heating was broken when we arrived and this information wasn’t passed to us. The management of the apartments were aware but it seems this wasn’t passed on to the holiday letting company. This meant the pool was pretty much out of bounds as it was too cold. I did manage a dip with my eldest in wetsuits but it wasn’t especially pleasant and was short lived. This was the only thing that let it down. We will definitely be back as it was a great holiday but there could do with some better communication around faults like this really. It isn’t the owners fault and we still had a great stay all in all. The roads around the apartments are quite challenging so we mostly stayed where we were and used the beach but there are plenty of other things to do nearby. We went to Plymouth to the Aquarium, and to the Butterfly and Otter sanctuary which were both great days out. So overall a really great stay.
