"Lovely converted stables - very comfortable and clean."
Great location if you want peace and quiet. Information pack about the house and outbuildings fascinating. Met owner Jon who let us know to knock on his door if any problems. Thank you

"It was home comfort away from home."
We loved the beautiful and peaceful setting. The cottage is cozy, very clean, tastefully decoarated and thoughtfully equipped- we really felt grateful for lacking nothing we needed.
It was very interesting to read the history of the place compiled by the current owners and we loved the atmospheric pictures created by the lady of the house.
It is a place with a soul.
Thank you so much and we are so pleased you enjoyed your stay and felt at home.

"Beautiful accommodation set in the countryside, but just off the A38 so easy access to the moors/coast and pretty towns."
Comfortable, warm, and welcoming, and though it is a couple of miles on a country lane to access, my little Honda Civic managed just fine.
Hi, thanks for this and nice to see you once more!

"We had a lovely stay!"
! The house was so lovely. We had some lovely wood fires and did a big puzzle and took our children out to explore the area. It is a special house and we would love to return. The owners are very nice as well. The beds and rooms were very cosy.
Couple of suggestions it would be good to have some salt and pepper, and we were not sure what to do with recycling. Also the coffee maker worked after a while but it had a bit of a mind of its own. Otherwise everything was great!
Thanks for this and we are glad you enjoyed your stay. Hope to see you again!
Didn't realise the pepper and salt had run out - will see to it.

"Only met the owners in passing but they were charming."
The acommadation was fine but i would definatly look into any further cottage bookings. We were far off the beaton track & it would have been better if we had a 4 by 4 moter. The lanes were very narrow & lots of twist & turns we made the most of it but wouldnt go back to this particular place.
Sorry you found the Devon lanes a bit challenging! However, what we and most of our visitors really like is the feeling of being tucked away in the countryside. Even so, we are only just over five minutes away from the A38 and, as residents, have never felt the need for a 4x4.

"We had a very lovely, short stay at the cottage."
The cottage was charming, cosy and clean. The beds were very comfortable and the kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need to prepare a meal. But what we loved the most was the quiet, peaceful and private location of the cottage.
We would love to come back for a longer stay next time.
Thank you for your kind comments and we are so glad you enjoyed your stay. Do come back and see us again!

"The Stables is a sweet apartment accessed by some stone steps."
It is all on one floor and is well equipped, maintained and clean. The drive way in and teh road in for for a few miles is really narrow roads and the hedges are overgrown at the minute so the car has quite a few branch scratches that need a good t-cut out. Thats nothing to do with the property but one to be aware of. The owners were lovely and chatty and left a welcome basket of goodies. The place is remote and so peace and quiet is guarentreed and a car is essential and its not that easy to wak anywhere from there on the roads. The internet was a nightmare when we were there and there was little to no internet for our stay, we had hoped to work from there but there was no chance of a that, and streaming for Netflix etc was impossible. We had our dog with us and although there is a little garden for you to use its not secure and so not ideal foe a dog. We did have a nice stay but given the above not one we would return to again.
Thanks for your feedback, we are glad you had a nice stay and it was good to meet you.
You mention a few issues however:
The internet was indeed a nightmare whilst you were here, for both you and us. Its back to normal now, but will be upgraded within the next two weeks to avoid any repitition of this.
Most people who bring along their dogs take the opportunity of taking them for a walk either around our three acres of wider gardens or along the quarter of a mile farm track. Maybe your little puppy was too young for that?
As for the Devon lanes, well if you want the peace and quiet you mention, then a bit of exploration is required. We are quite pleased that we can offer this whilst still being within a five minute drive of the main roads.

"We picked this cottage because the outdoor space looked amazing."
On getting there we read up that the main gardens outside the cottage were private. We had access to take the dogs on a lovely walk around the property but we struggled with the extremely small garden we had on the side of the cottage. More firewood would have been great and it would have also been a nice touch if the property owners, who i presumed lived next door, came over to say hello and make us feel welcome.
Oh goodness, this is the first time anyone has expressed concerns!
The wider gardens are private as it is after all, our home. But as you acknowledge, guests are welcome to do a walk around the lawns and woodland. However, as it says in the information guide, if you would like a closer look, then just let us know.
The Stable's garden is not large, but very private and perfectly adequete for a table and four chairs to allow for outside meals and relaxation.
Firewood, kindling, fire-lighters etc are provided as part of a welcome pack that also includes a goodies basket and wine. We can't keep topping everything up, but have always supplied more logs when asked.
We always try to greet our guests informally, when they are setting off or arriving back from a trip out. But we feel that they are entitled to privacy at other times.

"A cosy, clean and comfortable cottage in a quiet and peaceful location."
The cottage was very clean and had everything needed for a comfortable stay. The fireplace was lovely as were the warm, powerful shower and comfortable beds. It was nice to be able to walk our dog around the edge of the property and having a private garden was a bonus. I would consider staying here again and would recommend.

"The property and surrounding area where lovely."
We enjoyed reading the info folder. The wood burner was great for the evening's. The goodies basket and wine where a very nice touch. It would have been nice to meet the owners but appreciated them giving us our privacy. We really enjoyed our time away and would definitely recommend. Thank you.
