  • "Very good base for exploring North Devon and a very welcoming apartment."

Beautiful part of the country. A long or wide car would need to be parked elsewhere.

  • "Lovely small cottage."

Perfect for a short stay for a couple who will be out and about most of the time. Good info provided on local area and very helpful landlords when we need to contacted them. As described, parking is not next to the property but not very far way, although can be a little tight to get in and out of for the less confident driver. Overall a lovely stay.

  • "Lovely cottage with everything you need for a relaxing break."

When we arrived there were fresh flowers on the table and a cream tea left for us to enjoy. The cottage was very clean and positioned in a great place for walking in to Combe Martin, which we did a few times.

  • "Although everything was good about the cottage the location at the far end of the village may be a little far from the beach area for someone with mobility problems who wished to walk down to the beach instead of paying for parking down the far end."

    It was quite a trek.

  • "We had a great holiday."

Perfect size for a couple on holiday. Its in a lovely location by the beautiful little church. Combe Martin is not overly busy anyway but the mile or so walk from the cottage to the beach meant it was lovely and quiet where the cottage is. We sampled most of the pubs over the week for food and a few drinks!! Would definitely recommend the cottage and Combe Martin to anyone. Only slight negative was the very grumpy next door neighbour. The lane is tight outside so I parked in front of his garage for the purposes of unloading the car. I was only there 5 minutes but he came down and was pretty aggressive. The parking area is in a slightly different location which is clearly explained in the instructions. Perfectly easy to get to and, at most, 20 metres from the parking to the front door. I would advise just parking and unloading from there. The scones on arrival were a nice touch!

  • "We had a great a time an Enginefield."

It was very clean on arrival and the fresh flowers and scones were a nice touch! The cottage had everything we needed and was comfortable. The listing is accurate - it is only a short walk away from garden and parking. It was a short distance from most places we wanted to visit. Our only issue was the walk to the dog poo bin (as dog poo isn’t allowed in normal bins here) - we visited with a young dog so every time we had to pick up after her in the garden it was a 7 minute round trip to the bin. An outdoor bin could be provided in the garden for dog waste which we could then just empty once a day. Everything else was great, and we really enjoyed our stay.

  • "Lovely little apartment, the bathroom was small but manageable although it could do with constant extraction as no window."

The kitchen was well kitted and the bedroom was a good size. Location was good as it was off the main busy road and a nice stroll along the stream into town part of the way although it is quite a walk. We were worried about the parking due to the reviews but the parking was fine for a small van, the lane is just like the other narrow lanes in Devon.

Parking was very close to the accommodation. Welcome pack of a cream tea and milk was a lovely touch and the accommodation was well equipped and even tea & coffee was provided. Plenty of information was provided on local places of interest and several walks around combe martin. Well positioned for illfracombe and Barnstable

A lovely stay in Devon however you need a small car to get to area where car parking area is I knew garden was not attached to apartment but misleading description as garden area is where owners car and our car is parked, small sink in bathroom which isn't ideal for shaving etc

  • "The cottage was clean and well equipped ..."

The cottage was clean and well equipped The downfall was getting to the car park off wet lane The car park is only suitable for a small car as we had a big vehicle We ended up parking around the corner at Connelles car park £4:00 a day x 7 days which cost us an extra £30 which was an expenditure we hadn’t accounted for Another downfall was that there was no garden to look out at The description of the garden is quite misleading

Dear Ms Dosanjh, Thank you for your review. With reference to the description about the outside space, the description was modified to more accurately reflect its location after a comment from a previous guest. With reference to the parking facilities, although the property description does state "parking for one car" we will modify the description to say suitable for a vehicle size up to VW camper van in light of your comments. We apologise if you felt misled and appreciate the opportunity to improve the service we provide. Property Owner

  • "Cottage spotlessly clean and comfortable."

Lovely touch to be greeted with flowers and cream tea upon entrance. Would have been nice to have outside space immediately adjacent to the property but this didn't detract from the holiday too much. The walk to the sea front was a little further than we expected but again I'm being picky. Some lovely places to eat within walking distance and great location to explore the North Devon coast.

  • "We had a really lovely stay at Enginfield."

Spotlessly clean and nicely furnished, with almost everything we needed.Only two small comments. Although we had particularly lovely weather during our stay , it would have been great to have more comfortable garden furniture available. The quality of the duvet was odd, may be disposable, but it was too small for the lovely duvet cover so lots of sorting out where the duvet was in the middle of the night. Correct this couple of things then we'd give 10/10 +++. Thank you.

  • "Except for the tiny little sink in the bathroom everything is great in this hidden gem in the village of Combe Martin."

Although we had to search the house, once we found it, we fell into a dream. Everything one could ask for is provided, all brand new, very clean and the beautiful fresh flowers and the scones and cream were much appreciated. The owners that live upstairs were very helpful when we got a little problem with the lock of the front door. Attention: when you leave the car park be careful cause the wall opposite the narrow lane bites cars!

  • "Enginefield is a lovely clean cottage."

The only thing I think should be made clearer is the garden area. This is a short walk from the cottage and if you have a dog it means you have to take them to the garden every time they want out!! not

Thank you for your constructive comments, we are in our first year of letting and all feedback is welcome. We had no intention of misleading our visitors and have now amended the details accordingly so they reflect the facilities available more accurately. Property Owner
