  • "Bedrooms would benefit from additional storage space for clothes."

Lights automatically coming on in lobby can be annoying particularly in night when going to bathroom. Apart from that all good

  • "From booking to arrival to departure, everything was easy."

Great communication and information given to help us settle in well. The location of The Old Library was excellent and the property itself was lovely with everything we needed. A perfect bit of luxury away from home. We would definitely recommend this property and Coast and Country.

  • "What a wonderful place to stay and explore Dartmouth!"

We absolutely loved the quirky design of the Old Library. The owner has thought of everything - it is so well equipped and beautifully designed. The location is perfect- so close to all the wonderful shops and restaurants. We will definitely stay here again if we come back to Dartmouth.

  • "There were issues with the property, and although the staff at the office were incredibly good kind and quick I felt that some of the amenities not working and the overall tired aspect of some of the paint work and fittings had somewhat diminished since we last stayed here two years ago."

, the new sofa is good, but probably wouldn’t go back again. But would book somewhere else with you!

  • "Great location and lovely property."

Would definitely visit this property & Dartmouth again. Could have suppled some more basic items such as dishwasher tablets, salt & rinse aid amongst other things but they were minor issues. Some of seats could be more comfortable but again a minor thing compared to good quality and location of accommodation.

  • "You’re few steps away from the town hence ideal location and place to stay."

Got all the luxury n mod cons. Love it. - Downside is the comfort of sofa and bed mattress that lost their shape n firmness, n should be replaced. Also deep stepped stairs aren’t ideal for those with less mobility. I would recommend others to stay there.

  • "Overall we loved the property, its layout and location."

However a few negative points. We felt there should be a sliding door on the ensuite bathroom as there wasn’t much privacy. All four of us found the beds too soft, but understand this is a personal thing. There wasn’t anything to put the dirty towels/linen in and the instructions provided in the property and email did vary on this point. Also a few more bin bags would’ve been useful. However it was a great base for a brilliant time to enjoy Dartmouth and it’s surroundings, thank you!

Thank you for leaving feedback, it is very much appreciated and helps us to improve our service. in relation to your linen, there certainly should have been some bags left for you to be able to strip the beds, as well as instructions on what to do. We apologise that this was missed for your stay and this is something we will pick up with the cleaner. You will have been provided with a welcome pack which covers you for the first day or two of your stay. However, as this is a self-catering property, we do not provide anything further and so other essential items need to be purchased by guests. The other points raised will be passed on to the property owner for their consideration. We are glad you enjoyed your stay in Dartmouth and look forward to welcoming you again in the future! • "Loved the old library we had an amazing stay."

Will definately be going back again next year. Disappointed with lack of detail and information when we collected the keys. Information we needed we had to ask after rather than it being part of the handover. Parking permit was out of date and welcome pack mentioned discount vouchers to use during our stay which were not issued. Couldn't fault the accommodation but felt the agent did the bare minimum in terms of a handover.

  • "Nice venue."

The Old Library Needs a little attention to detail . Lot of dust around on lights and the extensive number of fittings. We loved the overall ambience.

About the location

DARTMOUTH

Totnes 12 miles.

Dartmouth lies on the banks of the beautiful River Dart estuary in the popular and picturesque South Hams area of South Devon. Located within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and close to the coast, Dartmouth is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Devon. It offers a stunning waterfront, ancient narrow streets lined with boutique shops, restaurants and art galleries plus many local events such as the annual Dart Music Festival and the Port of Dartmouth Royal Regatta, along with the Dartmouth Food Festival held every October. There are many interesting cycling and walking routes around Dartmouth, including the South West Coast Path, the Dart Valley Trail and plenty of quiet country lanes. A trip on the Dartmouth Steam Railway through picturesque countryside to Paignton is a must, and so is a boat trip across to Kingswear and on to Brixham, a pretty little harbour town. For those seeking some beach activities, there is a wide choice in the South Hams area such as Blue Flag Award winner Blackpool Sands, and Slapton Sands, both extremely popular and just a stone's throw from Dartmouth. A relaxing location in South Devon.
