  • "A great house, modern, clean, light and very airy, a lovely modern kitchen well stocked with all the kitchen essentials and enough space for everything we bought."

Two ovens, two dishwashers and even two kettles! The bathrooms were clean, modern, and the towels crisp and white with a few spare too. Super washing facilities in the utility room. The space was amazing for the 13 of us, eight adults and five children, and enough room them to run around. Snuggled nicely in between farm land with cattle either side of us which the children adored. 10/15 minute walk to the beach through a leafy woods. Highly recommended we had a super time thank you x

  • "The barn was unclean , there was a pair of ladies pants in one of the drawers and sand, hairs etc in most of the drawers in the bedrooms and over 30 flies buzzing around when we entered and some were horseflies ."

The barn clearly has a huge fly problem ( it has its only industrial size fly zapper machine in the utility room but no instructions to say where to hang it or operate it!) You need to revise saying 15 minute walk to North Sands , it is a dirt track with roots under foot and stinging nettles and brambles at hip height . As a multi generational venue this walk excludes all but the very fit and able( most disappointing aspect, as we cleaned the barn but couldn’t change the location or the flies). This feed back is not new as the guest book at the property is full of exactly the same type of comments. Sadly it will be our last visit to Salcombe using Sykes cottages .

We are very sorry to read your comments on your recent stay at Moult Hill Barn. We certainly do not expect our properties to be presented in this manner and do wish that you had reached out to us during your stay so we could have looked to rectify the cleaning issues. The beautiful remote location does mean that there is a lot of wildlife including insects (and at certain times of year horseflies) Our listing also does mention the walk to North Sands or South Sands is a 10-15 minute walk down the green bridleway alternatively you can drive where guests are less able. We are sorry this property was not for your family and I hope that the many good reviews this property has in both the guest book and on the website does show how wonderful this remote barn is. We hope you still managed to enjoy everything Salcombe has to offer. Kind regards the owner success team Property Owner

  • "Moult Hill Barn was the perfect stay - everything you could need for a large group - the path behind the property down to the beach and Winking Prawn was a great short cut."

    Would thoroughly recommend.
