“As you are probably aware, there was a problem with rain getting into the main bedroom (roof leak).”

I did not become aware of this until the Sunday morning following my arrival. I telephoned the local rep. who came round within about an hour to see what was happening. We moved a blanket box which had got a lot of water on the top out of harms way, and she (rep) put down towels which she had brought with her on the floor. I did not become aware of this until the Sunday morning following my arrival. I telephoned the local rep. who came round within about an hour to see what was happening. We moved a blanket box which had got a lot of water on the top out of harms way, and she (rep) put down towels which she had brought with her on the floor. After assuring her that I was alone and OK and had chosen to use the other bedroom, she left and said she would contact the owner(s). Subsequently, on one of the days in the second week a man arrived who said he was the roofer, and used his ladders to get up on the roof.. He reported that he had found some cracks which had opened up, (hot weather during the summer?), and had sealed these. I was not aware of any further leakage after the first weekend, even though there was some rain. (? wet timber expanded and sealed any major crack; less wind to drive the water into the gap(s)?). The experience has given a slightly different story from holiday to tell friends. It could have been more difficult if there had bee 3 or 4 of us. My main worry was that the water could get into the electrics, and that might have had serious consequences. Apart from this all went well, as expected. I doubt you will want to publish this, but I have no wish to 'censor' it.
