  • "Absolutely stunning views from the cottage."

Patio area needed a tidy up, weeding and general clean. Bed was very comfortable. A few items needed updating (oven gloves, tea towels, patio furniture, glasses ) Not sure why but the whole cottage had flies and spiders everywhere, not the usual amount that you'd expect. We had to buy fly spray and dust cobwebs away. As said previously, views were stunning but we had to move a set of steps ladders that were leant up against one of the lounge windows obscuring the view. I had to cut back a thorny rose type plant that was creeping across the patio and over the table and bench. I was worried about my dogs paws. We had lovely weather but we didn't sit out once as it all seemed scruffy and unloved. Such a shame. Steps up to the cottage were also covered in weeds, it just needed a little TLC. Could be beautiful as location was stunning. But sadly we won't be returning.

I am sorry that the garden wasn’t as tidy as it normally is. The person who looks after it had gone into hospital unexpectedly and we were unaware. The summer growth has now been tamed and the garden is back to its full glory. Property Owner

  • "Fabulous cottage."

This cottage could be five stars but a few things let it down. The kitchen wasn’t great and could have been better equipped and cleaner. Bedrooms were fine, bed was comfortable but so low down and difficult to walk around lack of space. Definite lack off basic necessities. Really! one toilet roll, no loo brush and we were promised one and it never appeared couldn’t fine an iron which was found locked away in a cupboard with a code lock. Not even any salt or bin liners We had to find a shop and stock up on basics that other cottages have provided as essentials. Oven had blown a fuse so we couldn’t cook our planned meal until it was fixed the following day. The owner did apologise but no offer of compensation. Not even a cheap packet of biscuits to have with our cup of tea.

Thank you for your feedback. I tried very hard to resolve your issues as a matter of urgency when you were at my cottage. I was at the end of the phone helping you and giving you advice when you wanted to know anything. I always leave tea, coffee, sugar, milk and packets of biscuits to all guests. There are always a few bin liners, salt, dishwasher tablets, couple of toilet rolls- things to get you started on your self catering holiday. I tried my very best to give you an enjoyable stay in my cottage. Property Owner

  • "Potters Cottage is lovely and the views spectacular but the access steps and position in the village would make it difficult for anyone with small children or mobility issues."

Great for the fit and healthy. On arrival the name plaque is difficult to see from a car but it’s next to the telegraph pole. Make sure you do not drive too far down in your car

Thank you for your review. Glad you enjoyed the cottage and the amazing views. Property Owner
