The Milking Shippon at Thorne is a beautifully converted detached milking shippon, on an idyllic small holding in the rolling North Devon countryside.

The owners reside onsite in the main farmhouse.

A fantastic base for exploring everything North Devon has to offer: wildlife, walking, cycling, surfing, family friendly sandy beaches and rocky coves.

Visit the famous donkeys at Clovelly or Hartland Quay, a location used in many feature films and TV series.

At the end of your days spent exploring, you can spend your evenings in your own serene countryside escape.

The beaches of Westwood Ho!, Instow and Appledore are all within 25 mins.

A little further and you can take a trip across into Cornwall to the family friendly beaches of Bude, or up onto Exmoor or Dartmoor to explore.

In addition, the beautiful Tarka Trail is just a mile from the property.

Great Torrington is an unspoilt town built on high ground above the River Torridge, and is a fifteen-minute drive from the spectacular North Devon coast at Westward Ho!. A leading tourist attraction is Dartington Crystal where visitors can see craftsmen blowing and shaping glass, follow the history of glassmaking and buy some beautiful pieces. The town has a good selection of individual shops, a friendly atmosphere, and some good inns. About a mile from Great Torrington is the spectacular RHS garden at Rosemoor, splendid with colourful roses in summer and in a breathtaking setting by the River Torridge. There are many villages to visit on the North Devon coast including picturesque Clovelly built on a steep hillside above the sea, Westward Ho! with fabulous sandy beaches and Hartland village with narrow streets, village square and Hartland Point with breathtaking sea and coastal views.
