  • "The apartment was lovely, in a great location and ideal for a couple and child up to the age of 12 maximum."

I made the mistake of booking the apartment for 3 adults which the Sykes website allowed me to do (I didn't read the complete listing which does include a note to say only suitable for 2 adults and 1 small child). Post booking this should have been picked up by the Sykes team. The 2nd single bedroom is tiny and has a small single bed in it and no floor space. Parking was very tricky due to the size of the spaces, only really suitable for small cars but I guess that's usual for a seaside town. The Wi-Fi was sporadic and made it difficult to watch the TV.

  • "Good central location with parking."

Nice light accommodation. The strength of the WiFi signal is poor in the living room even though the router is in the next door bedroom. This means that you cannot watch streaming apps on the TV.

Thank you Mr James for your feedback. We will endeavour to try to boost this signal for future uses. Property Owner

  • "Lovely accomodation in a beautiful location."

Beautiful views from the main living area and the main bedroom. The only disappointment was the size of the second bedroom just too small and cramped. Also we did not find the bin bags and caddy bags till the last day so may ne better to leave them under the sink.

Thank you Caroline for your comments, I will look into the placement of bin bags etc. Property Owner

Salcombe is a popular destination for walkers and families looking for a holiday by the sea and was once a major port. There are two pretty beaches within a short distance, North Sands and South Sands and further on is the National Trust property Overbeck’s where you can wander through the subtropical gardens. You can also take the small ferry across the estuary to the beaches of East Portlemouth, and a walk to Gara Rock. Why not have a more adventurous day and try out the watersports available on the estuary including sailing, kayaking or a more leisurely boat trip? Whilst staying in Salcombe you must take advantage of the locally sourced seafood which is served in many of the restaurants, pubs, cafés and delicatessens. The southern tip of Devon provides some spectacular scenery and picturesque vistas with a number of sandy beaches, lovely villages with thatched cottages and some fantastic opportunities for walking, including the South West Coast path.
