The property

This charming detached house, Fisherman's Cottage, is perched on the picturesque Portland Bill peninsula in Dorset in a quiet village location close to Jurassic coast path.

About a mile from Portland Bill lighthouse, this beautiful coastal 18th-century cottage is perfect for a getaway with the family or a get-together with friends, with beautiful sea views from the house and garden, where you can watch passing ships and boats.

Start your break by entering a sun room with seats that welcome you.

Next, head into the kitchen, where you'll find everything you need to prepare delectable dinners or speedy picnics to take with you on your adventures.

After supper as a family at the dining table, unwind as a family while watching a film and sinking into the sofas.

Get some sleep upstairs in the home’s three bedrooms; the first floor is also home to a bathroom where you can freshen yourself before another action-packed day.

Before having a cup of coffee in the garden, wake up with a revitalising shower, either in the bathroom or the master bedroom's en-suite.

The garden, which has a hot tub and furnishings, is a great place morning, noon, or night where you can also take in the picture-perfect sea views.

If you have the time, Portland is a great seaside town to discover; the Portland Castle and its delightful museum, which features exhibits on regional history.

Don't overlook Blacknor Fort, a 16th-century castle, another one for the history lovers, and Portland Alpacas for the animal lovers of your group.

The Cove House Inn, which serves up fresh seafood, is one of the many eateries and pubs in this area, and Cod Fathers is the place to go for delectable fish and chips if you're in the mood for takeout.

The charming seaside town of Weymouth, which is just a short drive away, is well-known for its breathtaking coastline, sandy beaches, and Weymouth Harbour, a popular spot for sailing and fishing.

Nothe Gardens is a picturesque park on a hilltop overlooking the harbour, and Nothe Fort is a popular tourist attraction dating back to the 19th century.

The town centre also offers a variety of eateries, and the shoreline is a beautiful place to wander or have a picnic!

Fisherman's Cottage is a great place to unwind, any time of the year.

About the location

PORTLAND BILL

Easton 3 miles; Fortuneswell 4 miles; Weymouth 9 miles.

Portland Bill is a narrow promontory on the end of the rugged Isle of Portland peninsula which is joined to the mainland via Chesil Beach, a pebble spit, which stretches 18 miles towards West Bay. Situated on Dorset's spectacular Jurassic Coast, now a World Heritage Site, Portland Bill is home to three lighthouses, the most recent built in 1906 being the 35 meter tall, white and red striped Portland Bill Lighthouse. Portland Bill is home to a pub and a restaurant/café as well as the Portland Bird Observatory. Formerly a quarrying area, the stunning coastal scenery and footpaths provide excellent walking and the surrounding countryside is well known as a birdwatcher’s paradise! The local communities of Fortuneswell and Easton boast a good variety of shops, pubs and restaurants. With great climbing opportunities and an array of watersports activities on offer locally, plus the wonderful sandy beaches and the pretty harbour at Weymouth just 9 miles away, this super holiday destination is not to be missed!
