Well appointed, everything you need and clean and well maintained. A well run lodge park with spectacular views across the co7ntryside and a place to feel genuine peace.

  • "Def. One of the best properties we’ve stayed at!"

Great location. Pretty scenery. Plenty of dog walks from the door. Pub 5mins away. Own lodge swimming a plus. Choice to eat at excellent Golf Club or pub in the same road. Staff very, very helpful at site.

  • "We had a lovely week at Swandown."

We have stayed at no 16 Netherhaye several times and the view from the balcony over the beautiful Somerset countryside was amazing - however no. 16 is no longer avalable so we decided to book 18 Netherhaye which is further along but sadly has no view from the balcony as there are several tall trees in front and the single level lodges in front. Also the microfibre towels that were provided for the pool did not do anything to dry you. The blue and white striped towels provided in no.16 were much better. We have booked No 9 Kittwhistle for next year as the views will be uninterrupted not only from inside but also out on the patio (weather permitting!!) Thank you.

  • "I was expecting an enclosed garden for the dog."

But never mind we loved the lodge. Everything was lovely. It was good that dogs were welcome & I appreciated the dog waste bin, poo bags, treats, & dog towel.. Our beds were the most comfortable we’ve ever had in a holiday cottage. The grandkids loved the pool. All the staff we met were helpful & friendly. We’ll definitely will be back.

  • "We have been to Swandown for the last 10 years and alway enjoy the location, the facilities and the lodges."

This time we were allocated an owner managed property and in some ways that was good, the touches for our dog were lovely, for example. Unfortunately, the bed in the master bedroom was not fit for purpose and part of it collapsed at 3am on our second night. It was then clear that it had broken preciously and had been patched together and, in our opinion, wasn’t suitable for use in the property. Clearly this marred our stay, a night of very disturbed sleep and a bed that was then unusable. We were then disappointed not to have any contact from the owner to acknowledge the fault or apologise for the issues this caused with our stay. This won’t discourage us from staying at Swandown again but we will now avoid owner maintained properties and this one particularly.

  • "We were very impressed with the lodge, its space, layout, furnishings and equipment and thoughtful hotel like touches."

We liked the attractive surroundings and walks on the doorstep. Our only issue was the bed in the en-suite room proving to be very creaky at the slightest movement so if someone is a light sleeper it can be a bit disturbing. Maybe it’s the frame. We all agreed we would definitely book again however.

  • "Really enjoyed our stay here, the lodge worked well as a family of 4 adults, a baby and a dog."

In the mornings I enjoyed walking across the fields and evenings swimming in the indoor pool. There is a pub within walking distance that serves nice food but take away deliveries a bit far. However the kitchen is fully equipped for them nights in.
