"We had a wonderful stay at the Paddock."
One day we returned from a day out and realised we had no heating or hot water. However, once we reported it to the owner, it was fixed the following day, even though it was a Sunday. Excellent service.
The Paddock has everything you need, it is very well equipped.
Would recommend.

"The Paddock is a lovely warm and modern bungalow; with extensive views of the countryside."
The best property we have been to in several years of Sykes holidays. The kitchen has every utensil and appliance you could ever need with a very secure back garden, good for our cocker spaniel.
We agree with previous comments about the quiet and interesting area. We particularly enjoyed visiting Wigtown, Port Patrick ( Pantry Café) and had great food in the dog-friendly Cree Bridge House Hotel bar.

"The house was a perfect base for our stay, in a small village with lovely views."
It had absolutely everything we needed, with lovely little extras provided by the hosts. One thing about the village is that there was a pub that served food that we thought we would visit one evening but it’s now closed.

"A lovely stay in a beautifully kept cottage
We had a fantastic stay in this well-appointed and spotlessly clean property."
The welcome goodies—fresh scones, tea cakes, and milk—were a delightful touch that made us feel immediately at home. Everyone we met in the village was incredibly friendly, and there are some wonderful walks right on the doorstep.
There’s very little to fault! If we’re being picky, some tea bags or coffee would’ve been handy, but that’s a minor detail. One thing worth noting is that the local pub appears to have closed—it’s not the owner’s responsibility, of course, but it might be helpful to update the listing to reflect this.
All in all, a lovely experience we’d happily recommend.

"The Paddock was spotless, warm and welcoming, equipped with far more than on the listing, or in most holiday lets."
Perfect location for complete rest, with cows and sheep for company, but amenities such as pubs, restaurants are a distance away, so need to be very self sufficient. (The local pub is closed).

"The Paddock is a lovely bungalow close to beautiful and stunning countryside."
Kirkgowan is a small and quite village with one small (friendly) shop. Sykes description of the property describes the nearest pub, The Craighlaw Arms Hotel, a 200-year old coaching inn, as been .3 of a mile from The Paddock. This is not correct. The Craighlaw has been closed for a year! The nearest pub/cafeis at least 8 miles away. We picked The Paddock over another property, which was situated 'in the country', because on holiday we like to have a 'local' for an occassional meal out, and to socialise, without the need to use a car. We have tried to raise the above with Sykes but their site is not user friendly when it comes to submitting complaints. The Paddock itself is a fine property. But we believe Sykes description of properties etc should provide a true representation. The Paddock has only been available to rent this year. The Craighlaw has been closed as a pub since last year: so it appears Sykes knew before they listed the property.

"We arrived to a very warm welcome and a card saying we were the Paddock's first guests!"
The house is pristine. The beds are comfy and a good nights sleep was had by all. The kitchen has everything you could need and was well organised. There is a great games cupboard, which we didn't have time to look at sadly.
A trip to Wigtown is a must for any book lovers.
One of the best holiday homes we have stayed in. We will most likely be back!
We only wished we could have stayed longer and that the sun had made more of an appearance.
