  • "A quirky property, just the right size for a couple."

Lovely location with plenty of paths to walk along the beautiful Wye valley. Well stocked village shop and cafe a few minutes drive up the hill, walkable if you are energetic! The only disappointment was the nearby community pub was still closed for renovation, hopefully reopening soon. It would be a useful place to eat out as cooking facilities in a small cottage are necessarily limited. Plenty of cafes and pubs in Tintern, just 5 minutes drive away.

Thank you for your lovely review and for taking the time to share your experience. I’m really pleased you enjoyed the lodge and the beautiful walks around the Wye Valley. It was a shame the community pub was still closed during your stay. It’s been a real community effort to restore it, and unfortunately these things can take a little longer than hoped. Hopefully it won’t be too much longer before it’s open again, it will be a great addition to the area. I’m glad you found the village shop and café useful, and that Tintern’s pubs and cafés were nearby. It was lovely having you stay, and I hope you’ll come back again. Property Owner

  • "My husband and I had an amazing wedding anniversary week at Ferryman's lodge."

It was clean and tidy. The bed was comfortable. Loved the fairy lights around the bedroom. We found it so peaceful, just sitting out listening to the birds. We enjoyed the walks by the river. We have never walked so much. We had fantastic weather but I can see if being cosy and warm in the colder months. The owner is very friendly and we found the information book in the lodge very helpful and informative. Even though there are houses around we still felt ferryman's lodge very private and secluded. We enjoyed it so much we are hoping to return next year.

Thank you so much for such a lovely review! It was a pleasure having you both stay at Ferryman’s Lodge, and I’m really pleased you had such a good week, especially celebrating your wedding anniversary. It sounds like you made the most of the walks and the lovely weather, and I’m so glad you enjoyed the peace and quiet around the lodge. It’s always nice to hear that the little touches and the information book were useful too. I’m really happy you enjoyed your stay so much that you’re hoping to come back next yea, that would be lovely! You’ll be very welcome. Property Owner
