The property

Bwthyn Bach is a charming single-storey cottage in Pentrefelin, Gwynedd, offering rural views, a private hot tub and off-road parking near the coast.

Designed for two guests and welcoming one well-behaved pet, this property sits within the grounds of the former home of Lady Olwen Carey-Evans and provides a characterful retreat in the grounds of Eisteddfa Country Estate. Step into the open-plan living space, where the kitchen, dining area and sitting area form an easy setting for days spent together.

Prepare breakfast before heading for the coast, share dinner around the table, then settle beside the woodburning stove as its glow fills the room.

The well-equipped kitchen has everything required for self-catering, while the Smart TV provides evening entertainment. The double bedroom has its own en-suite shower room, where a walk-in shower offers a refreshing start after waking to another day in North Wales.

Outside, the patio and lawn look across woodland, lakes and the sea.

Light the barbecue for an alfresco supper, or step into the hot tub and watch the landscape change beneath the evening sky. Begin exploring in Pentrefelin, where the nearby beach, lake and surrounding countryside invite shoreline strolls, waterside moments and days in the open air.

Travel to Criccieth to admire Castell Cricieth above the coast before wandering beside the sea.

Continue to Pwllheli for coastal scenery and time on Marine Beach, or journey towards Abersoch for another day beside the water.

Inland, the mountains and valleys of Eryri offer inspiring surroundings for walks and scenic drives, making it easy to alternate coastal outings with adventures through the Welsh landscape.

Return through the estate, once frequented by Welsh artist Kyffin Williams, and round off the day beside the fire or beneath the open sky at Bwthyn Bach.
