"The cottage was perfect."
It was situated in a beautiful, tranquil setting and had every convenience. The owners were friendly, helpful and very welcoming with a few ‘goodies’ left for our arrival.
We would highly recommend it to oldies like us and to young families who would delight in what the farm offers.

"Absolutely delightful."
Everything we needed for our stay was provided, very comfortable and attentive hosts. Really enjoyed the freedom of being able to wander around the farm meeting the animals, watching the amazing variety of butterflies and moths, birds and dragonflies.
The welcome goodies on the table, as we stepped into the kitchen, was really appreciated after a long hot drive.
Thank you for a memorable stay, wish it could have been longer.

"When entering the cottage we found the property was in need of some loving care, it was dirty, under the chairs in the living room and under the beds."
there were spider cobwebs on the windows and walls. the oven looked like it had not been cleaned for years. The bed frame in the on-suite was unsafe to use, the head and foot board was rocking as the joints to the base had come apart. The end bathroom showerbase had black mould and the down stair toilet door could not be locked due to poorly fitted hand lever lock. The hedge when entering through the 5 bar gate was totally over grown making it impossible to enter the property without scraping our car. The garden grass to the property had not been cut along with weeds close to the patio doors and the dead flowers in the tubs. The outside table and chairs were unsafe and needed replacing. the tennis court was uneven due to weeds growing through the tarmac.
The electric car charger is positioned in the corner could not be used as the owner charges there vehicles through the night and part of the day, it can be difficult to manoeuvre your vehicle pass the owners car as you need to positioned your car straight when driving out through the gate due to a tree stump positioned a cars width way from the hedge.
The cottage is in the village of Warehorne just 5 minutes to Hamstreet, a very pretty village, some good walks but it is near to the railway lines.
This could be a lovely cottage if they just spent some time investing, maintaining and cleaning the cottage.

"We hebben een heel fijne week gehad in Kent."
Het huisje is goed ingericht en biedt veel ruimte. Fijn dat er twee badkamers zijn. Ook kun je goed buiten zitten, al stond het gras wel vrij hoog. We misten een koffiezetapparaat. Dat is wel een aandachtspunt, maar verder is het een heerlijke vakantieplek.

"We had a very pleasant week at Mountfield Farm Cottage."
The owners were very welcoming and on hand to deal with any issues, but were not intrusive. The smallholding is a delight especially the goats. House is comfortable and warm, fairly well equipped. The pub is a short walk away and well worth a visit. There are plenty of walks from the house, and there’s plenty to do in the local area. We were there to see family and I would certainly consider staying there again. Thanks.

"Had a lovely stay and cottage is in a great location."
The cottage is cosy and overall a good standard. Not having live tv could be an issue for some guests as not easy to work. Kitchen was ok but not a lot of space to prepare food and more utensils such as baking trays and a better selection of pans are needed. Beds are comfy and bedrooms are tastefully decorated, additional blankets or a thicker duvet is needed. Lovely outdoor space and the tennis court was excellent and being able to explore the grounds and see the animals was a highlight. We had a lovely restful stay. If you want a quiet relaxing break which is super close to a fabulous pub this is the cottage for you!

"Instructions for the television would help."
We found it a challenge in the beginning, plus no live TV! We wanted to watch the 6 Nations!!!
Apart from that it was our second time at the cottage and we loved the walks, garden and local pub!!

"Lovely house,very comfortable and warm."
Well equipped and spacious.
Lots of local walks although extremely muddy in January.
Good access to surrounding area and beaches.
Some areas require attention to cleaning, cobwebs behind wardrobe in end bedroom( we were looking for a spare socket) and hair in shower traps.
Net curtain only over shared bathroom window and downstairs loo,not great when you have the light on indoors.
Unfortunately the lawned area is not enclosed as listed,so dogs have to be on the lead at all times, there are gates they can go through and goats that may access the garden area around the house.

"A really lovely and welcoming stay over New Year."
The home had everything we needed for our family and friends too.
We had a lovely welcome of nibbles, wine and milk which was a lovely gesture - thank you. The log fire was pre-lit and very warm.
We'd highly recommend staying here at this beautiful home.
We brought our furry friend too and it was well equipped with blankets, towels and a dog water bowl too.
The local pub was a hit on NYE too.

"We decided, at the very last minute to go away for Christmas and hunted around for somewhere that wouldn't require us to travel for hours but also provide a complete change for us for a few days."
Mountfield Farm Cottage met all our requirements and more. Spacious bedrooms, snug living room with log burning fire. Well appointed kitchen, farm on the doorstep, quite rural location with a pub within walking distance and about 10-15 min from Ashford. The hosts were very helpful, we really enjoyed our stay, and we think it made our Christmas a little bit more special than it would have been if we stayed at home. We would definitely stay again.

They even provided covers for the settee’s so your dog
Can sit on the settee with you if this is what you want. We loved our stay and have booked again for next year.
There was everything you would need, right down to a bottle of water in every room. Milk, eggs, orange juice and a lovely cake for us on arrival.

"Had a wonderful stay at Mountfield Farm at the end of October."
The grounds were a bonus lots of walks and a canal nearby. Property is well equipped, the kitchen had everything needed for cooking and entertaining our in laws. The lounge had excellent quality sofas and the beds were very comfortable. Our host was very welcoming. The only thing we would suggest is that the sign is not easy to read from the road but this is a minor detail. Church nearby is open and there are secondhand books to buy with an honesty box for payment we bought six.

"Such a peaceful and relaxing place to stay."
Very comfortable with plenty of room. Everything you could need provided. Helpful and friendly owners easily available, if needed. We were lucky enough to have a full week of sunshine and normally would have run out of things to do, but still didn't quite fit everything in. The wildlife park at Port Lympe is worth a visit, whilst Canterbury Cathedral and Dover Castle are not far away, both wonderful. The last time I travelled on the Romney & Dymchurch miniature railway was 70 years ago, so that was good to do again. We thoroughly recommend this cottage.
