  • "Lovely quiet setting amongst the trees this property was a comfortable cosy home from home."

    Well equipped with all you need. The bedroom would benefit from a net curtain for privacy. The few steps into the property are very slippery with wet weather and leaves so extra care needed if disabled. The smoke alarms should be tested more often than 6 months, so we tested them ourselves. Recommend this lodge for a break in the lakes.

  • "We found Robins nest quite comfortable and almost everything you needed was there."

    The only thing we found disappointing was the shower, nice size but there was nowhere to put soap, shower gel and anything else you might need. Also for people our age (80+) it would be very handy to have a hand rail. Otherwise it was OK. Pauline Robinson.

  • "A nice quiet site with views."

    The cabin was warm and comfortable. Fixtures and fittings all good quality and stylish. Everything we needed was provided. With Self Catering you are never sure but we had everything, didn't need our extras or to go out and buy bin liners, tinfoil etc. There was a whole role of bin liners as apposed to one spare if you are lucky. There were plenty of crockery and saucepans, serving dishes etc. Just limited knifes and forks, but plenty of serving and cooking utensils. The kitchen and bathroom looked fairly new with Dishwasher and washing machine (and detergents) We were there for the Keswick Convention and was a nice 20 minute walk to venue, uphill coming back. There is a bus stop fairly near but limited times. Would stay there again. The site does not have any re-cycling bins so we took our bottles home or a place is recommended. Thank you for a 'home from home'.

  • "Hi.we have booked 4 different lodges at Burnside over the years and they are all really nice,well equipped,comfy and lovely views."

    Robins Nest was fine in general,only a couple of tiny gripes such as a low powered shower,loose connection on holder which kept falling forward and no shelf to put your shower gel etc.. on,we used the surface above the unit but bottles kept slipping off so this needs sorting,also the bathroom cabinet above the sink which only held a first aid kit and bottle of sanitiser needs replacing with just a mirror on the wall as everytime i leant forward to rinse my mouth after cleaning my teeth my head banged on the cabinet!! overall the lodge was comfy,warm and enjoyable if a tad cramped but it does state it only sleeps 2 thats not a problem.

  • "A lovely lodge, well equiped with everything you need for a self catering holiday."

    The outside bins were overflowing with rubbish when we arrived on Saturday and not emptied until Wednesday. Rubbish in black bags was being placed in the bin are on the floor. The area smelled. The lodge is in a lovely quiet location just outside Keswick. It's an easy walk into the town or to Derwentwater.

    Location very handy for Keswick. Only negative I found the pine wooden panelling on walls and ceiling made everywhere dark. Could do with a refresh or maybe painting, otherwise we really enjoyed our stay.

The property

This well-presented wooden lodge is tucked away on the peaceful Burnside Park on the outskirts of Keswick.

Immersed in the picturesque Lake District scenery, Robin’s Nest offers a tranquil escape for couples seeking a break filled with outdoor adventure.

Upon arrival discover two off-road parking spaces adjacent to the property, as you take a moment to appreciate the fresh Lake District breeze before heading inside.

Spend your down time in the open-plan living space, appointed with a leather sofa and armchair in front of the electric fire, plus there’s a TV from which you can catch up on your favourite shows.

Dust off those cooking books and impress in the kitchen, equipped with all the necessary appliances for a short break, including an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and even a washer/dryer, so you can easily pop your clothes on a wash.

Head through the patio doors to reach the decking area, appointed with a set of outdoor furniture from which you can enjoy alfresco dining or simply a cold beverage on a warm afternoon.

Get comfortable for the night ahead with a refreshing shower before climbing into the double bed and dreaming about the next adventure.

Those feeling energetic can embark on a number of walking routes from the door, including the mighty Skiddaw.

Wander into Keswick and find many things to do, including visiting the local shops and pubs, some excellent parks and even the Pencil Museum.

For more glorious scenery, Derwentwater is worth a visit, as well as Ullswater and the Aira Force Waterfall, offering the perfect setting for nature observing.

The Keswick Adventure Centre offers canoeing and kayaking opportunities, while those who would prefer a more leisurely afternoon can indulge in a picnic at Friars Crag or tuck into a hearty meal in a local pub.

Bassenthwaite 7 miles, Ullswater 16.6 miles; Cockermouth 13 miles.

The popular town of Keswick is the holiday centre of the North of the Lake District and has plenty to offer the visitor at any time of year. The town boasts numerous shops and restaurants to suit all tastes, as well as offering miniature golf, excellent parks, the famous Theatre by the Lake, a charming cinema, the Pencil Museum, a climbing wall, fishing and great mountain biking opportunities, whilst the beautiful lake of Derwentwater at the head of the stunning Borrowdale Valley is only a few minutes walk from the town centre. Nearby, between Braithwaite and Buttermere is the beautiful Newlands Valley, while picturesque Bassenthwaite Lake is well worth a visit. From a gentle countryside ramble to a challenging hike up Skiddaw or the famous Catbells, there really is something for everyone. Visit Castlerigg Stone Circle, the Jennings Brewery and Mirehouse, a grand house and gardens on the shores of the Bassenthwaite Lake, or take a fabulous boat trip around Derwentwater. With plenty of attractions for the kids, lovely parks and the nearby Lake District Wildlife Park this is a great Lakeland destination whatever the time of year.
