    Mrs Wells

“Great location, very well equipped, lovely views.”

Loved seeing deer in the garden. For us would have been better with double and twin as family with kids but we did know it was going to be two doubles.

Loved seeing deer in the garden. For us would have been better with double and twin as family with kids but we did know it was going to be two doubles. Only negative is that the keycode box was confusing and a bit naff, the box that says flat 6 is behind a rose and not the correct one, the right one is lowest box on right and unnumbered.

The property

Sethera is a beautifully light and airy third-floor apartment located in the Waterhead area of Ambleside, with Waterhead, Borrans Park and Windermere on the doorstep.

A high-quality, comfortable apartment, Sethera is set in five acres of woodland and gardens with a stunning lake view.

Originally a gentleman's residence for the Cunard family heir, the apartment conversion has been done to a very high standard, and with the views and the local wildlife, this is a perfect lakeside retreat for a couples holiday or a family break.

Entering the apartment via a shared staircase, you come into a lovely open plan sitting/dining area with amazing views over Loughrigg Fell and a fully-equipped galley kitchen.

The sitting room has a TV with Freeview, a DVD player, and a music system.

The master double bedroom has a king-sized bed with lovely fell views, and a stunning en-suite bathroom with a traditional roll top bath, a hand-held shower, a WC and a basin.

A second double bedroom has equally spectacular views over the fells, and there's also a separate shower room, with a corner shower cubicle, WC and hand basin.

The apartment has a shared garden.

The beautiful woodlands surrounding the house offer a massive five acres to explore, playing host to the local wildlife, including deer, birds and badgers.

You don't have to go far to explore the Lakes, with Windermere and its lake cruises right on the doorstep.

Enjoy tea rooms, water sports and lake walks, or take a ten-minute stroll to Ambleside for bars, shops and restaurants.

Bowness is an easy drive and has more shops, a cinema, bars and other attractions, including the Beatrix Potter Gallery.

Or, take a trip over the Kirkstone Pass to Ullswater for more water sports, adventure centres and the Ullswater Steamer.

Sethera is the perfect place for a quiet, luxury couples break or a family getaway and is ideally placed for exploring the stunning scenery of Ambleside and the Lake District.

About the location

Windermere 4 miles; Grasmere 4 mile; Keswick 15 miles.

Lying at the northern tip of Lake Windermere, England’s largest lake, Ambleside makes a superb base for touring the central Lakes, with Grasmere and the Langdale Valley just a short drive away. There is plenty to do here - cruises, boat trips and watersports on Lake Windermere itself and numerous shops, restaurants and pubs in the village to suit all tastes. On the lakeside at Waterhead, the parkland offers lovely views down the lake and a short stretch of beach, whilst a walk in the other direction, following Stock Ghyll through woodland, will bring you to the entrancing waterfall of Stock Ghyll Force. Along with the Lake and the great walking on offer, Ambleside is also famous for its annual rushbearing ceremony and the diminutive 17th century “Bridge House” - one of the most photographed buildings in the Lake District and now the National Trust Information Centre.
