  • "A superb cottage with everything that you could want for a relaxing holiday."

Cosy lounge with sofa with high back, fully equipped kitchen; deep cosy beds and fabulous shower room. The garden furniture was useful as we had a heat wave. Lots of places locally to eat eg The garden centre restaurant and The Royal Hotel. Only 5 miles to Morecambe and a walk on the promenade. Return visit to Kendal. Would highly recommend this cottage!

Hi Chris & Martin Thank you for your lovely feedback, we really appreciate it. It was a pleasure to have you stay and we would love to welcome you back in the future. We are so glad that you had a relaxing week and enjoyed the local area with the added bonus of the sunshine! Thank you for leaving the property so immaculate and particularly for my lovely treat that you left me in the fridge! Very much appreciated and enjoyed! Best wishes Vicki Property Owner

  • "We really enjoyed our stay at Merefell Road, I can honestly say that it was the best accommodation we have ever stayed in, it was modern, well equipped and exceeded our expectations, and especially the welcome drinks."

I did'nt want to leave it was so quiet and peaceful and the neighbours we spoke to were really friendly. It was just a short walk to the bay and a lovely restaurant at the garden centre, If we are up that way again we will definitely book this property.

Thank you so much for the lovely feedback Alan, we really appreciate it. I am so glad that you enjoyed your stay and the bungalow! Thank you for leaving the place so immaculate. We would love to have you come back and stay again in the future. Take care, Vicki Property Owner

  • "My husband & parents have just come back from a lovely 3 night stay at this bungalow."

I took everything you would need for a self catering accommodation but hardly used any of it as the property had almost everything we needed. Spotlessly clean on a quiet residential street. Shower amazing. Thank you for the fridge goodies, a lovely gesture.

Thank you for your feedback, we really appreciate it and are glad you enjoyed the 'goodies'! We hope to see you back in the future. Best wishes, Vicki Property Owner

  • "From first walking in, we were very impressed with the whole interior, it looked all new."

Took a little while to work out how the heating worked and we think an explanation in the property guide book would be useful. Apart from that , totally satisfied.

Thank you so much for your feedback. I hope that you had a lovely time. I have taken on board your comment with regards to heating instructions and am in the process of writing an instruction guide to put in the welcome file. We hope to see you again soon! Property Owner

  • "Ideal accommodation for us as I have mobility problems, with parking on driveway and one step entry to property."

The house was in walk in clean condition, very tastefully decorated, powerful walk in shower. Very comfortable beds with quality bedding. Ample storage. Owners left milk, beer and wine in fridge which was a lovely touch. Quiet residential area, with eating places in the village. We’d recommend Trungs. • "We have stayed in plenty of holiday rentals and this has been the best in terms of design, comfort and sheer attention to detail."

For a detached, two-bed bungalow it's amazing. This was our first time in the Morecambe Bay area and when we return, we will surely stay at 12, Merefell Road. The bungalow is located within easy access to all the places we wanted to visit, including Morecambe, Leighton Moss RSPB reserve, Arnside and Carnforth. The kitchen is well-stocked and it was very thoughtful of Vicki to leave some milk; and even better to see a bottle of fizz and a couple of cold bottles of lager in the fridge. Teabags and coffee sachets are nice, simple touches, so often missed elsewhere. The shower is the best I've ever used. It's powerful and very easy to control. It has both a normal showerhead, which can be hand-held and a rain showerhead. A great shower makes a big difference. I'm going to get one of those floor mats for our bathroom. The beds are big and very comfortable, with four pillows. All the linens are of high quality. Space for two cars off the road. And it's really good value. Just don't book the week we want to return!

Thank you Jim and Shaun for your lovely feedback. It was a pleasure to have you stay at 12 Merefell Road and we would love you to come back. We really appreciated the recommendations that you gave us privately to make future bookings even more enjoyable for guests. In response, we have bought a microwave for the kitchen and flipped the freezer door over! We look forward to hopefully having you visit us again. Best wishes, Vicki Property Owner

About the location

BOLTON LE SANDS

Carnforth 2 miles; Kendal 20 miles.

Bolton le Sands is a small, sprawling village set back from the shores of Morecambe Bay, often forgotten because of its larger and busier neighbour Morecambe. With a nice selection of shops and pubs it is within easy reach not only of the fun seaside resort of Morecambe, but also of the quieter coastal villages of Silverdale and Heysham. Further afield, but still within very easy touring distance are the Lake District, Yorkshire Dales and Forest of Bowland. Visit the refurbished railway museum in nearby Carnforth, location of the classic film Brief Encounter, then take the scenic trip along the coastal rail route from Carnforth to Barrow in Furness, stopping at picturesque towns along the way. For cyclists there are cycleways along the prom and inland to Caton and the river Lune, making this equally as good as both a touring centre and for those who enjoy the great outdoors.
