"We had a lovely weekend in the Old School House."
However there were a few glitches.
Initially it was quite chilly and a number of heaters in some bedrooms, although switched on, didn’t warm up. One bedroom in particular was damp, musty and cold. In the end a couple slept on the sofa bed to avoid this room.
The house is very comfortable, with a very well kitchen and I’m sure that with regular maintenance it will be fine for future guests.

"Really enjoyed our stay here."
The kitchen and was well stocked with cups, plates, glasses and utensils, which was a concern ahead of arrival. Two dishwashers were also a welcomed discovery.
Plenty of comfortable seating and we thought the bedrooms were comfortable and clean.
In colder weather I would ensure that guests brought logs for the fire as the living area was a touch cold despite the heaters being on. The bedrooms were
warm. Great location for the eskdale trail and a visit to Muncaster castle which were both thoroughly enjoyed.
Cracking meal and drinks for a large group at The Inn at Ravenglass, which was walking distance.
Will definitely be back next year to repeat a cracking long weekend.

"A very spacious well presented property."
Nice decor and good facilities. Very ample sized garden and patio area. Muncaster Castle across the road was an added bonus. We had a really nice stay. We would recommend though that the WiFi connection be considerably improved throughout the property if at all possible.

"Very nice and spacious but it could have been better to put provide soaps and towels
Thanks"
Thanks for the review Mr Khedor.
Sorry to hear that you may have trouble not having the towels. It’s been clearly mentioned in the advert the towels are not provided.
Given the size of the property with 10 bedrooms we had multiple issues providing towels.
However if you need them they are available for a small additional costs.
The soaps are always provided.

"Glad of the opportunity to thank you for our lovely weekend in the charming, spacious schoolhouse, such a safe and interesting place for the wee ones, with access to the wonderful Castle just through the back gate."
Everything just as described though I would have liked the opportunity to contact before to have questions answered, we took stuff that was provided….loo roll, dishwasher tablets, bin bags but not fuel for the wood burner though collecting kindling with the kids was fun. I would recommend staying here.
Thank you very much Mr Blashkiw for a wonderful feedback.
We are glad you enjoyed your stay.
You could write to Sykes for any information before your arrival, which will be forwarded to management team to answer your questions.
Hope to see you soon again.

"I will wright a true review about our experience."
The location and the cottage are absolutely fabulous. The cleaning needs to be improved, in most of the bathrooms we could easily see that they haven’t been touched . No hand soap, no shower gel .. In two bathrooms was hard to have a shower as was no water pressure . In the kitchen are 2 dishwashers but no even one tablet to put in . The fridges also need a good clean . The ovens, there are 4 but only the small one on the right top I managed to turn it on . When I asked about the barbecue I have been told is no barbecue there so we had to buy and carry one and surprise , when we arrived there we found a huge one. Couple of radiators in the rooms are not working but we manage to be comfortable. In the second day we had no electricity from 2pm to 6pm , was quite hard with the kids specially when the dark started but is no ones fault , no even the neighbours had . I tried to get in touch to find out if there is a generator or something but apart from I will try to find out from agency I haven’t heard anything. We was lucky that the electricity went back before the night, otherwise I don’t know how we would have been able the sleep in cold as everything is electric. Apart from all mentioned we had a wonderful time and we will be happy to return but I hope improvements will be made in the mean time. I recommend to go and see the waterfall , for us was like an adventure but we really enjoyed.

"What a fab place to stay."
Group of 18, for the grans 83rd birthday. Youngest person 24, and all ages in-between. Plenty of room to relax, loads of bedrooms for all, great facilities, Internet hit and miss due to the number of people all trying to get on ( but, that's not important, we were there for a birthday party). Very warm once the heaters had kicked in and the wood burner was up and lit.
Large enough kitchen to provide for all. And a dinner table that all were able to sit around at 1 sitting. Lovely grounds too, and ample parking.
Description wasn't quite accurate, the place is better than the description. Would definitely stop here again.
Only thing it needs, is an outdoor, metal ash bin for cleaning out the fire place.
Thank you for such a lovely feedback.
Will are still making improvements to the property and by your next visit the internet issues will be sorted.
See you soon.
Thank you
