"We really enjoyed our stay at Beckside Cottage."
The cottage was very clean and had everything we needed for our stay. The beds were very comfortable, and the kitchen was extremely well equipped.
The location was fantastic, and we especially loved having the river running along the bottom of the garden. It was such a lovely and peaceful setting.
We would definitely recommend Beckside Cottage and would happily stay again.
Thank you hope to see you again soon Lisa & Dave

"The accommodation was probably one of the best we have stayed in."
The fixtures and fittings were top quality. Everything about this accommodation was first class. The setting right next to the river was lovely and peaceful. The use of the bbq was a nice touch and the welcome basket of wine, crisps and biscuits and flavoured teas was also appreciated. There is nothing about this property that I feel could be improved I would highly recommend and will definitely be visiting again, thank you Lisa and Dave for a wonderful stay. Nothing to do with the property but we also had a marvellous week weather wise as well (quite unusual for the Lake District - not a drop of rain) !
Thank you your more than welcome anytime Lisa & Dave

"Lovely place to stay and so relaxing sitting in the garden with the river flowing by."
Great place to explore Penrith and the lakes. Would have been 5 stars but no mention in the booking about the low ceilings and at 6ft 2 I bumped my head in several rooms in the house. This didn't spoil our enjoyment staying there however, I just learned to duck
Thank you for your feedback back I don’t put it on the listings as it’s an1870s cottage just thought everyone would know it’s quirky and cute glad you enjoyed your stay hope your head gets better soon Lisa & Dave

"Beautiful little cottage, well placed for local attractions & shops."
Beautiful, decent sized garden that borders the river and the flow of water is so soothing. There is a lot of traffic over the bridge but we zoned this out and this tiny issue is far outweighed by the positives this property has to offer. Bedrooms are clean and decent sized but you have to remember this is a cottage and you won’t find a lot of space for suitcase storage & headroom in the bathrooms (yes, there two of them … bonus!) is limited with the beautiful but low ceiling beams. However, there is plenty of room for storage in terms of shelving, baskets for toiletries & drawers for clothing.
Finally, the kitchen is well stocked with equipment along with a thoughtful welcome basket of biscuits, wine, tea & coffee, etc. Thank you!
Thank you for your review hope to see you in the future at Beckside Cottage Lisa & Dave

"Beautiful cottage but the was a couple of niggles,The sofa is very soft maybe needs replacing hard to get out of the corner you just sink down."
The most important comments is the air con unit in the glass roofed kitchen is out of order and the heat becomes unbearable we were there when it was overcast but as soon as the sun came on it was very hot would be a nightmare in a heat wave.the cottage is great position for the bus services to get about.
Thank you for your feedback sofa is only 12 months old but yes granted very soft and cosy and air conditioning unit we don’t use as all windows and double doors open to the river and living room is lovely and cool glad you had a lovely time hope to see you again soon at Beckside Cottage Lisa & Dave

"The location of the cottage as a jumping off point is perfect."
The cottage is cosy and comfortable and the conservatory with the views of the river and the stars at night is perfect.
For a dog owner there are two walks nearby, the lane walking away from the main road is perfect for a small early and late night wander. On the opposite side of main road is a longer walk that follows the river, in the winter you will need your wellies. One comment I would make about the garden for dog owners or those with young children is the lack of protection/barrier/fence between the garden and the river.
Thank you for your comments hope to see you again at Beckside Cottage

"We loved every minute of our holiday at Beckside Cottage."
The conservatory is amazing, allowing us to cook, eat and watch the river flow past the garden. The bedrooms are comfy and both have en suite - one with a bath and one with a shower.
Lisa, the owner, replied promptly to any queries we had, and had generously left a welcome basket for our arrival.
We came by train but there is a dedicated parking place only yards from the house for those holidaying by car.
Thank you for your kind words glad you enjoyed Lisa & Dave

Didn’t use the lounge or dining room spent the entire week in the kitchen conservatory. Nice and cosy so didn’t use the heating.
The bed was very firm.
Lisa was very helpful and there was a lovely welcome hamper.

"Beautiful cottage in a great location for exploring the Lake District."
I got to sit with a coffee each morning watching the river flow by with herons, swifts, ducks and more, this was the perfect start to each day. The cottage is so cosy and well equipped. We stayed with our children (13yr boy, 9yr twin girls) and they loved it. We'll definitely look to come back again.

"Thank you for a wonderful stay in your quaint cottage."
The cottage is well equipped, we never used the lounge at all as the conservatory was sunny and relaxing. there was a problem with the microwave which was replaced promptly the next morning. The views of the river are lovely we were entertained by the ducks, swallows and swifts skimming the water. Lovely garden to relax in and soak up the sun once we returned from out travels. Keswick was visited on market day, lovely little streets. Pooley bridge worth a visit. Appleby is a must great butchers and fruit shops away from the big retailers. we had a lovely lunch at Threlkeld village hall.
