    The hosts had thought of everything and the little touches really did make our stay that much more special. The location was perfect in every way. The pods were nicely spaced out and the hot tub was very welcome after a days hike. If I was being hyper critical I would just request shampoo/ shower gel was provided in the shower. But that really is the only thing I could think for improvement. We will definitely be back!

    Nicely kept and great scenery all around the lodges. Hot tub is a great touch as well very much enjoyable on a cold sunset evening. Some large fire logs would be good to have at the beginner for use of the fire pit. Also remember there is no oven in the lodges which is a down side as you can be a bit more limited to what you can cook. Overall a really nice experience.

  • "An absolutely lovely little hideaway."

    We had a great week here. The pod was really well equipped, very warm and cosy, and the furnishings very comfortable. Hot tub is a real treat and the hosts are so welcoming and accommodating. There are walks, lakes, lovely villages, and a nice pub all within walking distance, but it's also in a good, central, location for sightseeing more broadly. The stargazing window is great, but a blackout blind would be beneficial (we saw another review suggesting the same, and brought eye masks so it didnt affect us). We did hit a really wet week, so also brought our own clothes airer to dry wet walking gear (nothing the host can control, just a tip for things to pack).

    The pod has everything you need to relax and let the stresses of life just drift away. Looking at the stars whilst cosied up in bed gazing through the skylight window or sitting in the amazing hot tub was magical. The place is surrounded by stunning views good walks and a close drive to Glenridding. Our perfect honeymoon

The property

Situated on a working farm, amidst the great Cumbrian countryside, is this charming, single storey pod, The Shearer.

Set in a serene setting with the luxury of a hot tub, this pod is a fantastic choice for couples or families looking to experience the beauty of the Lakelands and surrounding areas.

The interior is comprised of an open-plan layout with kitchen, well-appointed for rustling up light meals, along with a dining table where you can enjoy the fruits of your labour.

Pour a glass of fizz and retire to the sofa, or step out and enjoy a moment on the patio furniture, stargazing and planning the rest of the holiday.

Why not treat yourself to a dip in the hot tub, well-deserved after a long day out?

Return to the warmth of the pod and get comfortable in the king-size bed or the sofa bed.

This beautiful pod has the added luxury of a velux window above the king-size bed so you can star gaze from the comfort of your own bed.

In the morning, wake yourself up with a rinse in the shower before going about your day.

Crossgate Luxury Glamping And Low Wood View Cottage

Crossgate Luxury Glamping are five delightful, single-storey pods and one wonderful cottage resting in Hartsop resting close to Glenridding in the beautiful Lake District. Nestled in stunning countryside, on this 5th generation working farm, this collection offers a hot tub to watch the sky grow dark and a fire pit to keep you toasty, making this an idyllic setting for couple, families and friends. All of the pods have a studio-style layout with colourful décor for a warm atmosphere, where you can curl up on the sofa bed with a TV for entertainment. The surrounding countryside is perfect for avid walkers with its rolling hills and mountain peaks, so be sure to pack your hiking gear. If you fancy a break from cooking then why not treat yourselves to dinner at The Inn on the Lake, which offers home-cooked meals and breath-taking views. For breakfast or a light lunch, you can visit Helvellyn Country Kitchen or nestle besides a fire in a traditional pub, which can be found in the lakeside village of Glenridding. Glenridding is a wonderful lakeside village, hugging the southern edge of Ullswater in the wondrous Lake District National Park. It offers the essentials of a convenience store, a café and a selection of characterful pubs. Some of the pubs overlook the picturesque Ullswater lake where you can try your hand at some exhilarating outdoor pursuits, or perhaps take a soothing cruise on one of the Ullswater Steamers. Spend the day in Grasmere where you can tour Wordsworth Grasmere, the stunning former cottage of William Wordsworth, or alternatively travel to Windermere, home to The World of Beatrix Potter Attraction, Orrest Head Viewpoint and Holehird Gardens; Ambleside is within easy reach from here and boasts Beatrix Potter's former home at Hill Top, a popular attraction all year round. There is much to do close by, with the wonderful towns of Hawkshead and Keswick within accessible reach by car, offering something to suit every age, taste and ability including Keswick Museum, Puzzling Place, Derwent Pencil Museum, in addition to a wealth of pubs, restaurants and shops where you can treat your loved ones.
