The property

Highfield Cottage, a pleasing three-storey cottage in the town of Windermere, in the heart of Lake District National Park.

Perfect for families or friends, this pet-friendly abode has Smart TVs in all bedrooms, a toasty woodburning stove and plenty of nearby amenities including a lake.

After entering the cottage, guests are greeted by a traditional stone façade and a neat front garden with gravel and lawn, setting the tone for a warm and welcoming stay.

Step through the front door into a hallway with wooden flooring and hanging space ideal for shedding coats and boots after a windswept walk on the fells.

The sitting room is the first invitation to unwind.

Two generous sofas and a large armchair gather around the woodburning stove, where flames flicker and warmth fills the room.

A bay window lets in soft daylight, while the Smart TV offers quiet entertainment for film nights or lazy afternoons.

Continue into the dining room, a sociable space with a window seat perfect for curling up with a book or watching the world go by.

The electric fire casts a gentle glow over shared meals and board games, with a second Smart TV tucked in for background ambience.

Shelves of books and games add a homely touch, encouraging slow mornings and relaxed evenings.

The kitchen is bright and thoughtfully arranged, making it easy to prepare everything from hearty breakfasts to celebratory dinners.

Whether you're brewing a morning coffee or plating up a roast, the flow between rooms keeps conversation and laughter close at hand.

A handy cloakroom with basin and WC completes the ground floor.

Upstairs, the sleeping quarters are spread across two floors.

The second-floor king-size bedroom sits beneath the eaves, with a striking headboard, panelled wall, and a desk positioned for quiet moments of reflection or planning.

The double room is peaceful and inviting, while the twin offers ample storage and a restful space for children or friends sharing.

The bathroom, also on the second floor, is a welcome retreat after a day of exploring sink into a warm bath or refresh under the shower before settling in for the night.

Step outside to the rear patio, a private haven where morning coffees steam in the crisp Cumbrian air and evening drinks stretch into starlit conversations.

The front garden, with its gravelled path and lawn, offers another peaceful spot to sit and watch the rhythm of village life unfold.

Windermere’s bustling centre is just a short stroll away, where independent shops, cafés and restaurants line the streets, and the shimmering lake invites paddleboarding, boat rides or simply a moment of stillness.

Families will love a day out at Brockhole on Windermere, where treetop adventures, archery and boat hire promise hours of fun.

In nearby Bowness, the World of Beatrix Potter brings beloved characters to life through storytelling, interactive exhibits and a charming garden trail.

For those seeking scenic views and a gentle climb, Orrest Head offers a rewarding walk with sweeping panoramas across the fells and lake a perfect introduction to the beauty of the Lakes.

Highfield Cottage welcomes you to experience the timeless charm and natural splendour of Windermere.
