  • "Fantastic little stay, has everything you need for a getaway!"

Loved all the animals around the property and how close it is to the Western Fells. Only downside for some would be that the property probably needs it's own Wifi connection as it was out of range all week for my device and the digi TV, as I was out hiking most days this wasn't an issue for myself but may be for some.

thank you. glad you enjoyed your stay. we have been striving to improve internet since before December, our provider assures us that it will be better connected by July Property Owner

  • "A beautiful location and very attentive, helpful and friendly owner."

It should be noted that access to the sleeping area requires some agility so not suitable for the less able bodied. However, once up there it is comfortable. A fun location with interesting history.

Thank you for you feedback.I agree the mezzanine is steep with limited headroom. Thrilled you enjoyed the location. We would welcome you back anytime Property Owner

About the location

CLEATOR MOOR

Whitehaven 4.1 miles; Cockermouth 16.7 miles; Bassenthwaite 21.4 miles.

Enjoying a peaceful position within the English county of Cumbria is Cleator Moor, a small town resting just a few miles away from Whitehaven and the coastline. The town plays host to a number of amenities, including a handful of pubs, shops and other small businesses, as well as a Mart Square, where there are three sculptures by Conrad Atkinson, a local artist of international repute. Here, you will also find part of the West Cumbria Cycle Network, which form a portion of the C2C Cycle Route, from Whitehaven to Sunderland. Those with two-wheels can look forward to meandering along the route of the old Whitehaven, Cleator and Egremont and Rowrah and Kelton Fell Railways, which were once very active in the 1850s. The port town of Whitehaven is nearby and rests on the west coast of Cumbria, where you will find a larger selection of amenities, as well as a golf course, The Beacon Museum and the attraction of The Rum Story & Jefferson' Shop. During the summer months, be sure to spend time on the local beaches of Providence Bay Beach, Tanyard Bay Beach and Fleswick Bay or head to the Lake District National Park to uncover some great walking opportunities and other outdoor adventure.
