• "A superb Victorian property and garden,wonderfully restored by the owners David and Irene."

  Accommodation is spacious, comfortable with every appliance thoughtfully provided. The beds were especially comfortable. We brought our bikes with us as there is a good network of cycle paths in the area and were able to store them securely inside the property which was a bonus. The property also has secure off road parking and is situated within easy walking distance of Southport town centre. All in all the perfect holiday home.Thanks also to David and Irene for the generous welcome pack we received on our arrival.

• "Very spacious, clean and comfortable house equipped with everything you could possibly need."

  Great location with lots of good walks. David and Irene proved to be exceptionally good hosts making sure guests are happy and provided fantastic welcome supplies. The garden was perfect for us and Riley (an excitable cocker spaniel) Would highly recommend a stay here

• "What a wonderful house, it was just perfect."

  The house and garden are really lovely. The owners were very kind and can't do enough to help you very thoughtful people. My husband was very ill last year and thankfully we managed this holiday. The location is perfect for the town and Promenade. The park is a 10 minute walk, my dog enjoyed himself in the garden too. We will definitely be going back, hopefully later this year. Thanks Irene and David it surpassed our expectations.

• "Mullans is exactly as described."

  It is a lovely house which has been carefully renovated by David and Irene. It feels like home from home and is in an ideal location for Southport in walking distance from the main Lord Street and beautiful Hesketh Park - perfect for doggies. Our dog Aura loved the house and the neat contained lawn and garden. There is nothing that I would change.

• "We received an amazing welcome, with great communication from David and Irene, fresh flowers, a lovely welcome basket and even a delcious home baked apple tart."

  The house was immaculate and seemed newly decorated, and all the linen was fresh. All in all, Mullans was perfect for us and we'll be very happy to return.

• "We had a wonderful welcome from the owners David and Irene who are so warm and friendly the perfect hosts who went above and beyond."

  The welcome gifts in the property were such a lovely and thoughtful touch. The property itself is stunning, with its period features. It’s immaculate and spacious inside with a beautiful enclosed rear garden. It has everything you need they really have thought of it all! The location is perfect, with the town and esplanade all within walking distance. Highly recommend and very much looking forward to returning.

• "We had a wonderful week at Mullans, even out of season Southport and surrounding area has lots to offer."

  We love going out for coffee and brunch, we found Birkdale village has excellent cafes and many independent shops, even a butcher, fishmonger, cheese shop and greengrocer. The house was perfect, just as described, warm and well equipped. It has been refurnished to a very high standard, we loved the original features, decor and high ceilings. We live on a narrow boat so it was a huge contrast for us. Irene and David, gave a masterclass in hosting. We were met at the property and shown around. They made sure we knew how to use the kitchen equipment, dishwasher and washing machine. There were plenty of edibles gifted to us, fruit, bread, butter, jam, milk, juice and even Prosecco. I appreciated the fresh flowers too. They kept in touch by text to make sure everything was ok for us and came to say goodbye as we left on our final day. Molly was made very welcome, treats and a dog basket available. The garden was perfect for her and safely enclosed. As mentioned on the listing the neighbour is refurbishing his house but the noise was minimal and didn’t worry us at all. We hope to return for another visit to Mullans in the future We hope to make a return visit in the future.

• "Lovely property with very friendly and helpful owners who showed us around and explained everything we needed to know."

  Very comfortable house with everything you need. A real home from home. Great location too, very handy for local park and town centre/ marine lake etc. Looking forward to a return visit next year.

  Many thanks for your review Janice, and is very much appreciated. I am really sorry there was some noisy digging in the street on Sunday morning apparently just a one-off. It was sorting improved wi fi for a hear neighbour. I know you didn't complain, but I did! and seems contractors had a permit for Sunday work and to be fair they stopped 10 ish after I kicked off. Anyway you and Mick and the ever amiable Shadow were great guests and would be welcome again Property Owner

• "We spent a lovely few days here visiting relatives."

  Irene and David perfect hosts who greeted us on our arrival. Beautiful garden spotlessly clean with everything you'd need. • "David and Irene were there to welcome us and gave us great advice about what to do in Southport."

  The property is a large house with the accommodation being the ground and first floors. It is a lovely building and very comfortable. You do not have to compromise with the kitchen, like you sometimes have to in other properties. You could quite happily live there. We have two dogs and they were very welcome. This is the best holiday property we have ever stayed in.

• "What can we add to what has already been said : we had a wonderful stay at Mullans."

  It's a beautiful house, so comfortable, clean and well maintained, and we had everything we could wish for. Our dogs thoroughly enjoyed the lovely, enclosed garden and Irene and David were the perfect hosts. We wouldn't hesitate to return if we are in the area again.

• "Just returned from a four night holiday to Southport and so glad we chose this property."

  It is stunning! It is spotlessly clean and tastefully decorated. The owners provided us with everything we needed to make a great holiday including an extensive welcome pack and useful suggestions of places to visit. Loved the large well equipped kitchen and beautiful enclosed garden. Many thanks to the owners for making our stay so enjoyable.

• "First class accommodation."

  Everything we needed and more. Dog friendly .Even dog bowls and bed as well as treats. Comprehensive kitchen facilities. Well kept garden secure for dogs. 10 minutes walk to Lord street . 10 minutes walk to Hesketh Park ideal for dogs. Off road parking. Owners friendly couple. We had a great stay.

• "It was truly amazing andvour hosts Irenecand David could not do enough for us."

  They even eogcsat for us whilst we went out for a meal. Also the welcome we received on arrival was first class. Flowers on table along with a lovely cake and everything we needed ie milk sugar butter bread and on top of that a large bottle of Prosseco inbtge fridge. House was spotless with every mod con and a beautiful back garden can't wait to go back.

• "We had a lovely week at Mullans."

  The Victorian house has had a lovely modern refurbishment and has excellent facilities including a modern bathroom and en-suite shower room and beautiful enclosed gardens. The modern fully fitted kitchen has everything you could want and more. The lounge has high ceilings with beautiful coving and traditional wood flooring. The hosts David and Irene made us feel very welcome and we were thrilled with all the little extras they provided. Thank you.

• "Lovely stay at Mullans, the photos don't do the property justice."

  ..it is a large house and each room is spacious and clean. The kitchen well equipped. The garden beautiful. Wonderful welcome with flowers, scones, wine, apple flan and much more. Only real downside is the parking... the driveway is exceptionally long and narrow - potentally suitable for small cars, but not wide enough for my Kia Carens, and my dad scraped his. Having said that, I parked on the roadside opposite the house quite easily. It didn't detract from our stay which was very enjoyable.

  The house is lovely, clean, warm and comfortable with a secure garden where we could let our dog out. The large rooms are tastefully decorated, fresh and clean. There is a well-equipped kitchen, two showers (one en-suite), and a downstairs loo too! Off road parking but also no problem parking on road. Only 5 min walk form Southport centre. Ideal and would throughly recommend.

• "We had such a warm welcome from David & Irene, the welcome gifts were a lovely gesture, the scones and Jam went down a treat together with the apple tart and wine."

  The house was so well equipped with clean good quality appliances. There was a lovely garden for Rocky our Tibetan Terrier and the beds were so comfortable with good quality mattresses. There was building work mentioned but we experienced no noise whatsoever during our stay so if you are thinking of booking, don't let that put you off - thank you David & Irene we enjoyed our stay and will be back!

• "Lovely traditional property, spotlessly clean, well equipped and very comfortable."

  David and Irene, the owners, couldn't have been more obliging with Irene even collecting us from the railway station. There were lots of goodies left to welcome us which was much appreciated. The house was very well situated within walking distance of plenty of pubs and restaurants and we particularly enjoyed a meal at Chez Moi. We would highly recommend The Mullans and hopefully we'll get to visit again.

• "Lovely property and very good location."

• "The mullens was outstanding."

  Steeped in traditional period architecture throughout with furniture to complement the period, yet so very comfortable with all mod cons. We were met by Irene and David who went above and beyond anything we have previously experienced at a Sykes holiday accommodation. So very generous with welcoming gifts and being on hand if needed. Will recommend to family and friends and hope to return ourselves.

• "The Mullans was a lovely place to stay to visit Southport and the surrounding area."

  The house was full of character, well equipped and comfortable. The owners were very welcoming and helpful. Nearby Hesketh Park provided a good dog walk each day in additional to easy access to several beaches.
