  • "Had a lovely stay at Fox Barn."

Perfectly situated for local amenities. Walk along the river with the dogs was very nice and convenient. 11 o’clock departure would have been a lot easy than 10am. Front gate to enclose the front patio area would be more relaxing with the dogs, as no back garden.

  • "We have been doing cottage weekends for about 10 years."

This was one of the nicest The location and area and Staveley Village was lovely. We thoroughly enjoyed it.. unfortunately, there are one or two little minor things that need to be addressed, The shower room though lovely did have an intermittent problem with the temperature of the shower water. It kept going hot and cold, hot and cold. But we got clean. All cottages we’ve been to have the some issues with beds some comfortable, some not so this cottages beds lean towards uncomfortable unfortunately but that’s the risk you take Hayhoe! Parking outside the cottage can leave you anxious due to the lack of space for passing traffic, but thankfully our weekend went without incident. We will be coming back because this is one of the best ! Lastly, The living room windows have mirrors to the side, which kind of blows your mind, and watching people walk past!.. we found this quirky and fun! Thank you.

  • "All great, very comfortable, and close to village centre, great walks from the doorstep with the dog and easy to get into the main tourist areas of the Lake District but a nice quiet retreat to come back to."

Great pub in village with local ales and good food, locals very friendly even the dustbin lorry stopped in the lane by the accommodation to give our dog a treat or two. Lovely stay thankyou.

  • "Cottage was in need of refurbishment the cottage smelt of dampness and quite visible dampness on the bedroom wall ."

My brothers partner has emphysema so had to sleep in the living room so it was very disappointing for us as a group so we stayed out of the cottage as much as we could. Could be a wonderful cottage if the owners put a good bit of effort into keeping it properly maintained. Overall spoiled our holiday would never recommend

Very comfortable stay. Lovely 5 minute riverside walk to village which has everything you need, bakery, cafes, ice cream shop, shop, good local pub. . Excellent location for travelling to the busier areas of the Lake District.
