  • "“Bay Cottage No."

    5 had all the charm of a seaside break… if you enjoy imaginary parking permits, smoky air fresheners courtesy of past dogs and cigarettes, and a chorus of courtyard chatter well into the night. Ventilation was more theory than practice, since the only openable window doubled as a direct line to Eau de Wet Dog. The back door was strictly decorative, guarded by a large Alsatian and the entire bin-owning committee. Storage space was as limited as our patience, and while the super-king bed looked luxurious, it was wedged so tight against the wall that rolling out required mountaineering skills. A stay to remember – though perhaps not to repeat.”

  • "Lovely little cottage in Morecambe ."

    Just a stones throw from the sea front. Short walk in to town.Cottage has all what you could need, two good size bedrooms with a open plan living room/kitchen. Courtroom garden shared by the other cottages, friendly neighbours and friendly dogs that like a fuss. Locally you have a Aldi and Morrisons for your shopping, local market open most days. Loads of local bars and restaurant and bingo a short walk away. Train station is a ten min walk,easy to get to Lancaster/Kendal/Windermere.Leaving the car behind and seeing the area sights . We had a lovely week and will look to return again, the owner Jane was lovely always on hand if you needed any assistance.We had a issue free week.

  • "Lovely property."

    Clean and modern with a cosy feel. It had everything we needed for our stay. It was a shame that we did not have the parking permit that is advertised with the property. However, after reading one review about this I made sure to seek alternative parking. If you have mobility issues and need to park close, this isn’t the best property due to the residential parking. Super comfortable and huge beds which was great for a good nights sleep but the bedrooms do lack storage areas. The kitchen, dining room and living room was well equipped and modern.

  • "E shared yard with constantly barking dogs was an unpleasant surprise."

    The cottage was very small but adequate. I had specifically looked for a property with parking so the missing parking permit was a disappointment.

  • "We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Bay Cottage No 5."

    The house was lovely and cosy and had everything we needed for our stay. Parking was limited but we found plenty of free parking available on nearby Oxford St. We found plenty to see and do in Morecambe and would love to return! Jane the owner was very friendly and we would highly recommend this cottage!

  • "We absolutely loved this cottage."

    It was very well equipped and so close to the sea. The only thing missing was oven dishes - there was only one - as I like to cook in the oven, but the kitchen equipment was generally excellent. The beds were comfortable, the whole place a delight. My 92-year old father loved it, and especially loved Henry the German Shepherd puppy he met in the courtyard!

  • "Very clean, comfortable and all facilities needed."

    No parking permit as told previous renters took home. But I was told on phone by council another could be arranged for £25 by owner at short notice. Meant walking 15 mins at least twice a day, sometimes in rain to car after new knee op. No visitors book. Small shared courtyard with ten others , which meant sometimes two large Alsatians and another small dog running around. Barking most mornings at 0730 and a couple of times around midnight.

    Gorgeous cottage immaculate through out, in a fab spot right in the middle of all the bars and restaurants, just a couple of strides from the promenade would definitely stay again and carnt recommend this lovely cottage enough

  • "A very comfortable cottage that is near the sea front and near the centre of the town, so close to the pubs and restaurants."

    A well equipped kitchen, plenty of reading matter and games if the weather not great.. A little bit of noise on the Saturday night, a party, but quiet the rest of the time. Some windows could not be opened, which could be an issue in hot weather. We really enjoyed our time in Morecambe and would be happy to return to this cottage if we visit Morecambe again.

  • "Whilst the cottage was well maintained, clean and well furnished it is in quite a rough area with street fights and a general atmosphere of deprivation."

    The coastal scenery and promenade were wonderful but Morecambe itself is quite depressing with lots of street drinking and disorder. I wouldn't stay again.

  • "We had such a wonderful holiday at Morecambe."

    The house is well-equipped and the beds are super comfy! The owner was very friendly and supportive, when we had a problem with the key to the garden. It was fixed the same day! The area has much to offer and we were really sad when we had to leave.

  • "GREAT LOCATION, JUST BACK FROM THE PROM."

    NO SEA VIEW. .3 MILE FROM SPOONS AND THE MORE UPMARKET THE MIDLAND HOTEL IS NOT FAR AWAY ON THE PROM. WE COULD NOT WORK OUT THE RECYCLING SYSTEM.

  • "The property was spotless, roomy & warm."

    The furniture was arranged for the utmost comfort & the bed has got to be the best I've ever slept in away from home. I spent some very cosy nights in front of the TV after cycling along the peaceful & beautifully scenic promenade which was literally just around the corner. I had everything I could possibly need & will definitely be booking this property again. I highly recommend it.

  • "This was a lovely property to stay at."

    It had everything we needed. It was so close to everything, especially the beach. We ended up parking the car and we didn’t use it for the time we were there. We had a lovely time and would definitely return in the future.

The property

5 Oldham Street is a two-bedroom, terraced cottage resting in the centre of Morecambe, Lancashire.

With the beach and local amenities on your doorstep, this is a great base for four guests to explore the coast, countryside, and the Lake District National Park.

Be welcomed into the open-plan living space with two sofas, a coffee table, Alexa Dot and a TV for relaxing afternoons in front of the flame effect electric fire.

You'll find thoughtful, homely decor throughout, as well as a contemporary kitchen area with everything you need for a self-catering stay, including a washing machine and dishwasher for your convenience.

The group's chef will have no problem rustling up their best home-cooked dishes, to be served at the round table for four.

After sandy days exploring the coast, freshen up in the pristine bathroom with a bath, shower over, and heated towel rail.

Two bedrooms, one with a king-size and the other with a zip/link for flexibility, are finished to a high standard with bedside lamps, hanging space, and sumptuous throws to snuggle up in.

You'll be in a sought-after location with Smokey O'Conners pub just down the road, as well as The Crown Bar & Bistro and The Brittlestar Wine Bar and Cafe nearby; if you prefer cooking at home, there are convenience stores and a supermarket a short journey away!

There is a shared courtyard at the back of the house which you’re welcome to use; Please be aware that some neighbours have (very friendly!) dogs that you may encounter.

The town has plenty of attractions on offer including a sandy beach, a bustling promenade, and Morecambe Golf Club.

For more amenities, the city of Lancaster is a short drive or train journey away with the medieval Lancaster Castle, Williamson Park offering panoramic views, and two fascinating museums, all with the Forest of Bowland AONB just next door.

Walkers, cyclists, and wildlife lovers will find their haven here, as well as in the Arnside & Silverdale AONB a little further south, with an unspoilt coastline, RSPB Leighton Moss, and Lakeland Wildlife Oasis.

The popular market town of Kendal is also within easy reach on your way into the Lake District to discover local heritage at the Quaker Tapestry Museum, enjoy scenic views during a game or two at Kendal Golf Club, or all-weather climbing at Lakeland Climbing Centre.

Continue your journey onto Windermere for boat cruises, watersports, and a variety of attractions, whilst Ambleside, Grasmere, and Hawkshead are all worth a visit for gentle walks or challenging hikes!

Perhaps you'll hike to the top of The Old Man of Coniston or the highest Lakeland peak, Scafell Pike?
