The property

Rooftops is a charming barn conversion cottage resting in Lindale, within the Lake District National Park in Cumbria.

Well-suited to families and friends, this reverse-level retreat combines practical accommodation with a lovely village setting, making it a great base for discovering some of the region’s most celebrated landscapes and attractions.

Arriving at Rooftops, pull into the allocated parking space and step into the attractive courtyard development, where the stone-built barn conversion offers a welcoming first impression.

Before heading inside, take a moment to appreciate the enclosed rear garden, an inviting spot for morning coffee in the fresh air or an evening drink after a day spent exploring the fells and lakes.

Entering the cottage, the ground floor hosts the sleeping accommodation.

The double bedroom enjoys patio doors opening directly onto the garden, allowing daylight to flood the room and making it easy to step outside with a morning brew.

Nearby, the bunk room provides a handy space for younger guests to settle down after busy days of adventure.

Completing this floor is the family bathroom, where you can choose between a refreshing shower before heading out or a relaxing soak at the end of the day.

Climb the stairs and you'll discover the heart of the home, an open-plan living space tucked beneath the characterful roofline.

After a day on the trails, stretch out in the sitting area and chat about the day's discoveries, while the kitchen makes it easy to prepare everything from hearty breakfasts to evening meals, with an electric oven, fridge with ice box and dishwasher helping to keep holiday routines simple.

Gather around the dining area to linger over meals and make plans for the next day's excursions.

Above, the mezzanine level offers an additional space for relaxation.

Outside, the enclosed rear garden provides room to sit back with a favourite book or enjoy a little sunshine during warmer months.

When you fancy venturing further afield, a welcoming pub can be reached with a pleasant stroll, while the shops and amenities of Grange-over-Sands are only a short drive away.

The attractive Edwardian town of Grange-over-Sands is ideal for a day out, where you can wander along the promenade overlooking Morecambe Bay, explore the ornamental gardens, and watch the changing views across the estuary.

Nearby Cartmel blends history and food in equal measure, offering visits to the striking Cartmel Priory, a chance to experience the atmosphere of Cartmel Racecourse, and opportunities to sample the village's renowned food offerings.

Within easy reach, Windermere provides access to some of the Lake District's best-loved experiences.

Board a lake cruise and admire the surrounding scenery from the water, spend time at The World of Beatrix Potter Attraction celebrating the author's famous tales, or explore the shores and viewpoints that have inspired generations of visitors.

The wider Lake District National Park is an outstanding destination in its own right.

Spend your days walking through dramatic fell landscapes, discovering picturesque villages steeped in character, or seeking out sparkling lakes framed by some of England's most impressive scenery.

Whether you're looking for outdoor adventure, memorable family days out, or simply a well-placed base for exploring Cumbria, Rooftops makes a delightful choice for your next getaway.

Just a few minutes drive brings you to Cartmel, a delightful village to wander around, famed for its delicious sticky toffee pudding, 12th century priory, National Hunt race meetings and gourmet restaurants.
