  • "Artisan Lodge was absolutely beautiful and in a glorious location."

    So peaceful . There was everything you could possibly need in the lodge and all to an extremely high standard. We really didn’t want to leave and could quite happily live there! The communication with the owner was excellent and a handrail was even fitted to help my mum with the steps into the lodge. Couldn’t ask for more and can’t wait to stay there again. Many thanks

  • "Artisan Lodge was perfect for a family holiday."

    Lovely property in a rural location but only a short drive to shops, restaurants etc and just a 30 minute drive to pleasure beach. I would definitely recommend it and will be going back with my family. Loved it!

  • "It was a delightful property!"

    Very well equipped and very comfortable.Great location for visiting the Ribble Valley. I would just echo what a previous review said- it would benefit from a handrail/support on the steps to the front door as it is really not easy for elderly people!

  • "Excellent property."

    Owners are fantastic, promptly got us extra fans after dog took ill in the heat. They even purchased a paddling pool for the dog which we left for other dogs to enjoy. Only suggestion is perhaps add vets to emergency contacts. Perfect location for peaceful stay and ideal Homebase. Will hopefully return next year.

  • "Wow! What a beautiful lodge."

    Very clean, so spacious and set in very peaceful and beautiful surroundings. The perfect place to relax and unwind. Saskia was so welcoming and couldn’t do enough for us. The welcome pack was amazing too and our only complaint is we had to leave! Thankyou for letting us stay in your fabulous lodge xx

  • "Had a lovely stay at the Lodge."

    The owner was friendly and very accommodating.The Lodge is in a beautiful area with easy access to the nearby towns of Ribchester and Longridge. My only feedback is to request some sort of blinds in the main bedroom, we had a baby with us and he woke up very early due to the sunlight at 5ish.

  • "Wow! What an incredible lodge!"

    The advert certainly didn’t do it full justice - it is absolutely stunning and to a high spec we didn’t expect but a great surprise! There was nothing the lodge didn’t have, making it a fab staycation option without the worry of having to pack everything but the kitchen sink! Richard and Saskia were incredibly accommodating and helpful, we will certainly be returning in the future.

  • "Brilliant place to stay the facilities are first class 3 very comfortable beds the main bedroom and en-suite are amazing the kitchen is very well equipped with everything you need the underfloor heating makes the whole lodge very comfortable."

    The only criticism is the front steps need a handrail as they are a bit of a challenge for an old bloke like me with dodgy knees .The rear decking area is south facing and well equipped with patio furniture and gets lovely and warm even in April so worth a visit for a great place to stay

  • "We had a fantastic stay for my friends hen do weekend."

    Property was had a fantastic living space for us to really relax and enjoy our weekend together. We got lucky with the weather and enjoyed some lovely evenings eating outside in the garden watching the sun set.

  • "This is one of the best houses I have stayed in."

    In a beautiful quiet location a lovely roomy house which is super comfortable. The kitchen has everything you will need - the bedrooms are very comfortable with lovely cotton bedding and thick luxurious towels. A deck with comfortable garden furniture and a garden the dog enjoyed. It’s so good I have already booked a return visit

  • "We loved our stay at Artisan Lodge over Christmas."

    The Lodge was modern but with so much character with lovely artwork and decor which just made the place so homely. We loved it, our teenage kids loved it and our dogs loved it. Close enough to longridge town for shops and country side walks on the doorstep. The touches and welcome from the hosts were a really nice too and just made the stay one to remember.

LONGRIDGE

Ribchester 3.5 miles; Preston 8 miles

Longridge is a small town and civil parish in the borough of Ribble Valley in Lancashire. Situated 8 miles north-east of the city of Preston, at the western end of Longridge Fell, above the River Ribble. Longridge initially developed outwards from an area around St. Lawrence's Church, at the boundary of the townships of Dilworth and Alston and to the south of the modern-day town centre. Many of the buildings are built of locally quarried sandstone and despite modern developments; the town centre remains largely as it was when it was first established. The town holds a portfolio of gift shops, cafes, antiques and art studios, plus numerous food outlets from takeaways to gastro pubs. Its nearest neighbours are Grimsargh and the Roman town of Ribchester, with its Roman museum and beautiful church of St Mary’s on the banks of the river Ribble. Clitheroe castle is only 20 minutes down the road. Here there is another wealth of interest, from the historic Browsholme Country Estate, host to regular Farmers Markets. To the southeast Longridge Field Day is a long-standing annual event that consists of a parade through the town, and various attractions on the town's recreational playing field. The Forest of Bowland (AONB) shows off an expanse of fells criss-crossed with dry stone walls and dotted with picturesque farms and villages. The hen harrier is the bird symbolised on the Forest of Bowland’s logo as it is their most important breeding ground in England. Beyond the Harrier there is a wealth of other wildlife to be spotted from Kingfishers to the Red Grouse. The rivers Ribble, Calder and Hodder converge near the prestigious Catholic Stonyhurst College, providing idyllic landscapes and walks, not least of which – The Tolkien Trail – lead to an abundance of pubs to quench the thirst afterwards. The area sports numerous agricultural shows, art exhibitions and day festivals of all sorts throughout the summer and is within reach of the Lancaster canal and city, Blackpool and the Lake District, so there is plenty to keep everyone occupied.
