Plenty of walks on the doorstep for walking with or without a dog and a safe secure garden . The cottage was pretty well equipped only a couple of minor issues , eg nowhere to dry wet clothes or beach towels and a mat is definitely needed in the shower as it gets very slippy when wet. Other than that we had a really good holiday at Primrose Cottage

We much appreciated being allowed to use the washing machine - a step beyond. There are two (first world) bits of feedback. 1. The Wi-Fi only works in the bedroom which is not great if you want to stream a movie. 2. We are not tall but the bed is short which we found it uncomfortable.

Lovely to have tea, coffee, sugar and biscuits supplied. Also extras supplied that we didn't expect were tea towels, dishwasher tablet's....very useful! Liquid hand cleaner, washing up liquid and various cleaning item's. Only negative is that there is no shaver point for charging shaver and tooth brushes and a hair dryer would be useful but this did not stop us enjoying the cottage and it's location, nice to have use of tenis court and walks around grounds and surrounding countryside. You need a car as several miles from shop's/beaches. We found Mandy really helpful and very welcoming and was a pleasure to chat to. A small garden with a patio and grassed area to let the dog out at night before bed, but you could take the dog a walk up the lane to woodland or around the grounds (pond you can walk around) and small caravan site. 20 minutes and you are at a lovely dog friendly beach where we let the pooch run free, other interesting areas nearby if you want but we booked to get away from the dreaded fireworks and it did the job and am going back at New Year. Alford is known for its Grade 1 listed working windmill, which is used commercially to produce stone-ground organic flour. Alford Manor House is a central point in the town, with its exhibitions and museum as well as a tea room and open gardens. With Alford being set in the Lincolnshire Wolds, there are plenty of walking and cycling routes to follow or even take a trip to the Lincolnshire Wolds Railway or Claythorpe Watermill and Wildfowl Gardens, where you will find plenty of birds and animals, with plenty of space to sit and relax with great views of the old mill. Within 30 mins, you will find the seaside resorts of Skegness and Mablethorpe, with great beaches, making a great playground for children and adults alike. For something different, why not visit the towns of Louth or Horncastle, which both have a good range of shops and pubs as well as regular street and farmers markets? Whatever you decide to do, you will not be short of choice for your holiday in this lovely area of Lincolnshire.
